Blanche “Bambi” M. Truesdell

Blanche “Bambi” M. Truesdell, 70, lifelong resident of Winchester, passed peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family after a period of declining health.

She was born a daughter to the late Julia (Marcfeld) and Harold Deane on May 26, 1953, in Keene, NH. She was educated locally at Thayer High School in Winchester class of 1971. She continued her education at Keene State College where she obtained her Bachelor degree in Early Education in 1976.

On December 28, 1974, Blanche exchanged vows with the love of her life, William Truesdell. They had a simple service in the family home in Winchester surrounded by the love of family and friends.

Blanche had worked at Winchester Elementary School as a teacher for 37 years.

Bambi had many joys and passions in life but nothing was more important than her family and friends. She enjoyed trips to the casino and collecting figurines of frogs. She also belonged to the VFW women’s auxiliary, the Winchester PTA, and the National Education Association.

Mrs. Truesdell is survived by her loving husband, William Truesdell, and their children, William J. and his wife Rebecca of Winchester, and Robert M. and his wife Casey Truesdell of Hinsdale. She is also survived by her sister Anne M. Fyfield-Deane and her wife Anita of Keene and a foster brother Arthur Johnson and his wife Patricia of Winchester, as well as her grandchildren, Dean A. Truesdell of Winchester, Jackson W. Truesdell of Winchester, Julia J. Truesdell of Winchester and Gunner M. Truesdell of Winchester. She also leaves behind cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She is predeceased by her brother Harold “Bucky” Deane.

A graveside service with a gathering to celebrate the life of Blanche will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 11:00 am in Evergreen Cemetery, 60 Forest Lake Rd Winchester, NH. 03470. Francis “Frank” L. Sullivan

Francis "Frank" L. SullivanFrancis “Frank” L. Sullivan, Jr.,79, of Keene, NH, passed away at home surrounded by family on January 24th, 2024.

He was born on November 9, 1944, in Haverhill, MA, to the late Francis and Lillian (Mourey) Sullivan. Frank graduated from Haverhill High School in 1963 and returned to technical school to become a Computer Technician in 1982.

Frank married the love of his life, Judith (Pratt) Sullivan in 1981, and enjoyed 43 years of happy marriage. He and Judy were blessed with two children, Katie and Margaret, and later two grandchildren, James and Cora.

Sullivan 2Frank worked for the Stop & Shop Companies for many years and then worked as a Computer Technician for Aerotronic Corp in Contoocook, NH, and as a Controls Engineer at Kingsbury Corp. in Keene, NH. Over the years, he built up a wealth of knowledge and experience and often told stories of some of his more interesting projects. He was a dedicated provider for his family and a leader among his colleagues.

In his free time, Frank was an avid outdoorsman. In his youth, he hiked all 48 4,000-foot peaks in New Hampshire, showcasing his love for adventure and nature. He spent summers with his family camping, hiking, canoeing, skiing, and riding bicycles. Frank was also a craftsman and created beautiful fabrics on his handloom. He also had a passion for history and enjoyed teaching about traditional weaving at the Fort at No. 4, where he wore historical garments and gave demonstrations to students and visitors.

Frank Sullivan is survived by his loving wife, Judith, his daughters Katie Sullivan and Margaret Lashof-Sullivan, his son-in-law Matthew Lashof-Sullivan and his cherished grandchildren James and Cora Lashof-Sullivan. He is also survived by his sisters Noelle Sciuto and Maureen McClintock and his many nieces and nephews.

A private ceremony will be held for Frank, and no services are planned at this time. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm in the Cheshire Family Funeral Chapel, 44 Maple Ave. Keene, NH. 03431. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Fort at No. 4. Frank will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to those who loved him.

Virginia “Ginny” R. (White) Shepardson

Virginia “Ginny” R. (White) Shepardson, 78, a resident of Roxbury and formerly of Hillsborough, West Swanzey, Marlborough, Royalston, MA and Athol, MA. passed away peacefully while resting with the love of family by her side on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Cheshire Medical Center in Keene.

She was born to the late Helen (Darling) and Cyrille A. White on January 29, 1945 in Winchendon, MA. Ginny attended local Massachusetts schools and graduated from Athol High School in Athol, MA. class of 1962.

On May 17, 1963, Virginia exchanged vows with her high school sweetheart, David C. Shepardson. They had a simple service at the Athol Congregational Church in Athol, MA. They were happily married for 55 years until David passed away on October 2, 2018. Ginny enjoyed her time working for Country Spirit Restaurant in Henniker, NH as a waitress for 15 years until she retired in 2005. Prior, she worked for Friendly’s in Keene as a waitress for over 20 years. She also formerly worked for Starrett’s in Athol and Robert Hart Shoe Factory in Keene as an administrative clerk.

Along with working, Ginny enjoyed watching and feeding birds, a lover of all kinds of animals, attended raffles at local sportsman’s clubs, and spent time working on her flower gardens. She loved orchids and watching the black bears who would raid her bird feeders. Ginny was a member of the Keene Area Klassics Car Club and was the former President. She also attended the annual Dana Reunion for the town of Dana, MA which was submerged when the Quabbin reservoir was flooded.

Most recently, Ginny had served as the Trustee of Trust Funds, as well as the Supervisor of the Checklist for the town of Roxbury, NH. Ginny enjoyed her work as a member on the town of Roxbury boards.

Mrs. Shepardson is survived by her two children, Daniel Shepardson and his wife, Mary of Keene, Andrew “Andy” D. Shepardson of Roxbury, her two siblings, Margie Day and her husband, Lowell of Barstow, CA., and Evelyn Tarmon of San Antonio, TX. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Melissa Adkins, Michael Parkhurst, and Christopher Parkhurst, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, David Shepardson, and her two siblings, Richard White and William White.

Calling hours will be from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at the Cheshire Family Funeral Home, 46 S. Winchester St. Swanzey, NH. 03446. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 4, 2024, at the Cheshire Family Funeral Home, Swanzey.

A burial will take place later in the spring of 2024 in the family lot at Stewart-Maple Cemetery, Athol-Richmond Rd. Rt. 32 Royalston, MA. 01368. Although flowers will gladly be accepted, the family has asked that all donations be made out to the Swift River Valley Historical Society, 40 Elm St. New Salem, MA. 01355. The Swift River Valley Historical Society coordinates the reunions for the towns affected by the Quabbin Reservoir. Donna J. (LaFargue) Munson

Donna MunsonDonna J. (LaFargue) Munson, 70, of Swanzey and formerly of Winchester and Keene, passed peacefully while resting surrounded by the love of her family at Tufts Medical Center in Boston on Friday, January 19, 2024.

She was born a daughter to the late Mildred E. (Chambers) and Raymond O. LaFargue on January 3, 1954, in New Haven, CT. She was educated at Amity Regional High School in Orange, CT. class of 1972. She furthered her education with Real Estate School and NH. State Government courses.

On July 15 1972 Donna exchanged vows with the love of her life Charles C. Munson. They were married in a simple service in Keene surrounded by the love of family and friends.

Donna had worked for the town of Swanzey as the Town Clerk for about 10 years, retiring in 2016. Prior, she had worked at Blais Realty of Swanzey as the Office Manager for 20 years as well as 5 years at National Grange and 5 years working at Masiello leasing agency.

Donna was a very active person who loved to travel in her motorhome, go on motorcycle rides, shoot sports, Middle Eastern dance, and scuba diving. When she wasn’t out on an adventure you could find her flower gardening, doing crafts, painting, or completing the crossword puzzles. She had a passion for being fit and could be found at Planet Fitness regularly. She also loved going to her grandkids events and just being with them. She liked going to dinner regularly with close friends.

Donna MunsonMrs. Munson is survived by her loving husband, Charles Munson of Swanzey, along with their children, Wayne R. Munson and his significant other, Heather Melemdy of Keene, Joshua R. Munson and his wife, Gina of Swanzey and Jeremy W. Munson and his wife Hannah of Swanzey. She is also survived by her siblings, John V. LaFargue of Swanzey, and Daniel LaFargue of Swanzey, and her grandchildren Everett Munson, Elly Munson, Aviana Munson, and Ariella Munson. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. She is predeceased by her sister Sandra (Cookie) Hastings.

Christopher “Chris” S. Clay

Christopher ClayChristopher “Chris” S. Clay, 59, a lifelong resident of Keene, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 21, 2024, after a sudden illness, with the love of family by his side.

He was born the son of Philip H. Clay and the late Karen B. Clay on August 28, 1964, in Keene, NH. Chris was educated locally and graduated from Keene High School class of 1983. After high school, he continued his education at Springfield Technical Community College in Springfield, MA. studying solar energy and HVAC.

Chris spent many years working in retail sales, he loved the interactions with his customers and sharing his love of pets and food. His employment over the years was with Ye Goodie Shoppe, Jenna’s Market, Monadnock Food Co-Op, and One Stop Country Pet Supply.

Christopher ClayOutside of work, Chris enjoyed spending his free time with his family, socializing with friends, working in his gardens, hiking, geocaching, and frequenting his favorite restaurants. Chris loved going to the beach in York Maine, spending vacations there every year. He always loved his walks on the beach with his family finding treasures that the ocean left behind. Many memories and fun-filled times were spent at the family cabin in the White Mountains.

Chris is survived by his father, Philip H. Clay, his two children, William C. Clay and his girlfriend Kellie Smith, Noah B. Clay and his wife Emma King-Clay, his former wife whom he remained very close friends, Brenda J. Glinka and her husband Jim. Chris is also survived by his sister Heidi W. Clay, Christopher Clayhis nephew Michael Suazo, niece Angelica Colon, and great niece Nova Colon. With many, Aunts, Uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends. Chris is predeceased by his mother, Karen B. Clay.
