Christopher ClayChristopher “Chris” S. Clay, 59, a lifelong resident of Keene, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 21, 2024, after a sudden illness, with the love of family by his side.

He was born the son of Philip H. Clay and the late Karen B. Clay on August 28, 1964, in Keene, NH. Chris was educated locally and graduated from Keene High School class of 1983. After high school, he continued his education at Springfield Technical Community College in Springfield, MA. studying solar energy and HVAC.

Chris spent many years working in retail sales, he loved the interactions with his customers and sharing his love of pets and food. His employment over the years was with Ye Goodie Shoppe, Jenna’s Market, Monadnock Food Co-Op, and One Stop Country Pet Supply.

Christopher ClayOutside of work, Chris enjoyed spending his free time with his family, socializing with friends, working in his gardens, hiking, geocaching, and frequenting his favorite restaurants. Chris loved going to the beach in York Maine, spending vacations there every year. He always loved his walks on the beach with his family finding treasures that the ocean left behind. Many memories and fun-filled times were spent at the family cabin in the White Mountains.

Chris is survived by his father, Philip H. Clay, his two children, William C. Clay and his girlfriend Kellie Smith, Noah B. Clay and his wife Emma King-Clay, his former wife whom he remained very close friends, Brenda J. Glinka and her husband Jim. Chris is also survived by his sister Heidi W. Clay, Christopher Clayhis nephew Michael Suazo, niece Angelica Colon, and great niece Nova Colon. With many, Aunts, Uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends. Chris is predeceased by his mother, Karen B. Clay.

Calling hours will be from 10 am – 12 pm on February 10, 2024, at Cheshire Family Funeral Chapel, 44 Maple Ave. Keene, NH. 03431. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
