Donna J. (LaFargue) Munson, 70, of Swanzey and formerly of Winchester and Keene, passed peacefully while resting surrounded by the love of her family at Tufts Medical Center in Boston on Friday, January 19, 2024.
She was born a daughter to the late Mildred E. (Chambers) and Raymond O. LaFargue on January 3, 1954, in New Haven, CT. She was educated at Amity Regional High School in Orange, CT. class of 1972. She furthered her education with Real Estate School and NH. State Government courses.
On July 15 1972 Donna exchanged vows with the love of her life Charles C. Munson. They were married in a simple service in Keene surrounded by the love of family and friends.
Donna had worked for the town of Swanzey as the Town Clerk for about 10 years, retiring in 2016. Prior, she had worked at Blais Realty of Swanzey as the Office Manager for 20 years as well as 5 years at National Grange and 5 years working at Masiello leasing agency.
Donna was a very active person who loved to travel in her motorhome, go on motorcycle rides, shoot sports, Middle Eastern dance, and scuba diving. When she wasn’t out on an adventure you could find her flower gardening, doing crafts, painting, or completing the crossword puzzles. She had a passion for being fit and could be found at Planet Fitness regularly. She also loved going to her grandkids events and just being with them. She liked going to dinner regularly with close friends.
Mrs. Munson is survived by her loving husband, Charles Munson of Swanzey, along with their children, Wayne R. Munson and his significant other, Heather Melemdy of Keene, Joshua R. Munson and his wife, Gina of Swanzey and Jeremy W. Munson and his wife Hannah of Swanzey. She is also survived by her siblings, John V. LaFargue of Swanzey, and Daniel LaFargue of Swanzey, and her grandchildren Everett Munson, Elly Munson, Aviana Munson, and Ariella Munson. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. She is predeceased by her sister Sandra (Cookie) Hastings.
Calling hours for Donna will take place on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm at Cheshire Family Funeral Home in Swanzey, 46 South Winchester St. West Swanzey, NH. 03469.
