Stephanie was born the daughter of Sandra (McElravey) and the late Chester Hitchew on November 19, 1973 in Berlin, Germany. She was proud that she was born behind the Iron Curtain and was very happy when it came down in 1988. She was educated all over the world. Her father was a career military man and every time he was transferred she had to attend new schools. Eventually, the family settled down in Lunenburg, Massachusetts where she graduated from Lunenburg High School class of 1991. After high school she continued her education and attended Newbury College School of Business and Hospitality Management. She later earned her certification from the Blaine School of Cosmotology

On May 21, 2017 she exchanged vows with Timothy D. Matson Jr. at River Walk Park in Keene. They were married in a simple service with close family and friends in attendance. They have been married for almost two years.

Stephanie was extremely happy to work as a Senior Hair Stylist for J.C. Penny in Keene for the past two years. She loved going to work and being with her coworkers. She was also licensed hair stylist in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

Stephanie was the most beautiful, loving, caring and selfless wife. She was the best friend anyone could have. Stephanie carried all of our burdens. If you were lucky to hear her sing it was magical. She enjoyed many things in life. Time was spent cooking while listening to music. She liked to go to concerts and the beach, where she was a sun queen. In the early morning she would glow like an angel as the sun touched her skin. Stephanie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister. She also had a soft side for animals especially her family pets. Stephanie was known as Tink or Tinkerbelle by her family and close friends. She would do anything to help someone in need.

Mrs. Matson is survived by her husband, Timothy D. Matson Jr. of Troy. Her son, Joseph Rocco Lastella Jr. and his fiancée, Brittany Menard of Fitchburg, MA. Her mother, Sandra J. Bennett and her husband Bryan of Lunenburg, MA. A sister; Robin Sodano and her husband John of Lunenburg, MA. Her brother, Larry Hitchew and his wife Kim of Middleburg, FL. A step son, who she loved like her own, Timothy D. Matson III of Troy. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
