Katherine A. (Dubriske) Zitta, 87, a long-time resident of Winchester died on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Applewood Care Center in Winchester. She passed peacefully while sleeping.

Katherine was born the daughter of the late Nelly (Deanasiewski) and Enoch Dubriske on August 8, 1930. She was educated in Winchester and graduated class of 1948.

In 1955 she exchanged marriage vows with Edwin Zitta and was married for 64 years they traveled the world while he served in the Air Force. She was thrilled to settle back home in Winchester when he retired from the military.

Katherine was best known for her kind heart and big smile for everyone. She worked at the Winchester Elementary School as a cafeteria aid for many years. When she retired she could be found in her beautiful gardens and feeding the birds. Katherine’s door was always open to friends and family to chat and visit over a cup of coffee. She also enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino for fun.

Mrs. Zitta leaves behind a husband Edwin Zitta of Keene, Her children; Joseph Zitta of Salem, Gary Zitta and his wife Karen Zitta of Swanzey, Paula Zitta and her husband Robert Galloway of Derry. Four grandchildren; Michelle Manley, Joshua Zitta, Scott Zitta and Katie Zitta. Three great grandchildren Evelyn, Logan and Caroline. And a sister Theresa Gochinski of Greenfield, Massachusetts. Many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. Katherine is predeceased by her loving daughter, Debra Zitta who died in 1999. She is also pre-deceased by her siblings; Pauline Guyette, Christina McLean, Chester Dubriske, Edward Dubriske, and Francis Dubriske.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 5 to 7pm. in the funeral home. A Mass will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 10am. in St. Stanislaus Church, Mary Queen of Peace Parish, Richmond Rd. Winchester, NH. 03470. Burial will be in the spring in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery, Winchester. Flowers will gladly be accepted. However, the family would prefer donations be made in memory of Katherine A.
