Niel C. Chamberlin Sr. 64, a life long resident of West Swanzey died on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Maplewood Nursing Home in Westmoreland. He passed peacefully while at rest after a brief period of declining health.

Niel was born the son of the late Marion (Paige) and Donald Chamberlin on October 10, 1949 in Keene. He was educated locally and graduated from Monadnock Regional High School class of 1967.

On July 7, 2012 he exchanged vows in a service of commitment with Patricia M. Albright. Sadly she passed on May 3, 2013. They were joined in the commitment with family and close friends in attendance.

Niel worked at Porto Lite Company in West Swanzey for twenty years. He worked in many positions during that time but was primarily employed as an optimizer.

He was a man of faith. Niel loved to play softball in the Greater Keene Leagues and eventually the Senior League. This passion went on for over thirty five years. Time was also spent traveling and playing pool in the Bush League. You could find Niel casting a line fishing the local streams and ponds. Time was also spent as a proud member of the Scarlet Marauders Drum and Bugle Corps in Swanzey. He was a member for fifteen years before they disbanded.

Mr. Chamberlin is survived by his son, Niel Chamberlin, Jr. of Troy. His siblings and their spouses: Susan Chamberlin and Al Munichiello of West Swanzey, David Chamberlin and his wife Holly of West Swanzey and Pamela Maliska of Keene. Grandchildren: Cole and Karyanne Chamberlin and a great granddaughter, Aubrey Douai. His Aunts and Uncles: Robert Paige of Troy, Frederick Paige of West Swanzey, Donald Paige and his wife Opal of Keene and Paul Chamberlin and his wife Barbara of West Swanzey. His step daughter, Sherri Kovacs; step grandchildren Brooke Foster, Alicia Turner and Hunter Foster and step great grandson, Carter Willard. In additions he leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and numerous friends. Niel is predeceased by his brother-in-law Todd Maliska who passed on December 8, 2013.
