Lawrence Larry E. White 69, of Winchester, and formerly of Marlborough died on Sunday, January 26, 2014. He passed in the comfort of his home with his family at his side after a period of declining health.

Larry was born the son of Glendine and Gerald White on October 3, 1944 in Keene. He was educated in Pennsylvania and graduated from Twin Valley High School in Elverson, Pennsylvania class of 1963.

On June 17, 1967 he exchanged vows with Judy G. Willey at the Bible Church in East Westmoreland. They were married with family and friends in attendance. The Whites have been married for forty-six years.

Larry was patriotic. He was drafted into the United State Marine Corps on March 21, 1969 during the Vietnam War. He served as a machine gunner and was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one Star, Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with one Palm and Frame, Vietnam Campaign Medal with one Service Device and a Good Conduct Medal. Larry completed his time of service with an honorable discharge at the rank of Corporal, E-4.

Larry was the owner and operator of the L.E. White Logging Company in Winchester. He ran his own business for twenty years. He retired in 2009 to enjoy time with his wife and family. Prior to retirement he had worked at the HHP Company in Henniker, Cutting Edge Timber Harvesting in Marlborough, and Cersosimo Lumber Company in Brattleboro, VT.

For fun Larry liked to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He collected antique chainsaws and was an avid NASCAR fan. Larry was a member of the Vietnam Veterans Association, American Legion, Marine Corps League, and the Harley Owners Group.

Mr. White is survived by his wife, Judy G. White of Winchester. He also leaves his children; Stephanie L. White-Ferland and her husband Scott of North Hartland, VT, her son, Colby Ebbighausen, and step-children, Jaclyn Ferland and Ryan Ferland. And Sharon L. White of West Swanzey and her daughter Hannah Dettelback. His mother, Glendine White of Bowmansville, PA. Siblings: Eugene White and his wife Sondra of Denver, PA. Francis White of Birdsboro, PA. Monica Pike of Bowmansville, PA. and Holly Miller of Bowmansville, PA. in addition to cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In-laws; Richard Willey of FL. Mary Blanchard and her husband Leonard of Roxbury, Barb Fish and her husband Doug of Keene, and Morris Willey of Winchester. Special friends, Linda Dunham and family of Fitzwilliam. Larry is pre-deceased by his father Gerald White who passed in June of 2012, brother in-law Ronald Reed and close friend Wayne Dunham.

In keeping with Larrys wishes there will be no calling hours. A gathering to celebrate Larrys life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 from 2 to 5pm. in the hall at the VFW, Main St. Winchester, NH. 03470.
