Martin Sonny W. Yade 82 a long time resident of West Swanzey died on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Cheshire Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Keene. He passed peacefully after a period of declining health.

He was born the son of the late May (Quin) and William Yade on November 26, 1931 in Port Chester, New York. Sonny attended schools in Port Chester.

On February 1, 1968 he exchanged vows with Victoria L. Fairbanks in a simple service in Millbrook, New York. They have been married for almost forty six years.

Sonny worked for the Keene Industrial Paper Company as a Truck Driver. He retired in 1994 after twenty five years of service to enjoy time with his wife, family and horses. Prior to moving to New Hampshire he had worked for Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and Bennett College Stables in Milford, CT. where he cared for show horses, traveled to hunter and jumper shows through out the country and fox hunted with the Millbrook Hunt Club.

Martins free time revolved around his wife and horses. They purchased, trained and showed hunters and jumpers all over New England.. Sonny loved to trail ride and competed in pleasure and judged trail rides in New Hampshire and Vermont.. Also a fan of Thoroughbred racing the family would vacation in Saratoga, New York enjoying the Thoroughbred race track, sales and Polo matches over the past forty years. Sonny was a member of the New Hampshire Horse and Trails, New England Horsemens Council, American Horse Show Association. Sonny was the co-founder of the New Hampshire Hunter and Jumper Association.

Mr. Yade is survived by his wife Victoria Vicki L. Yade of West Swanzey. He also leaves his children, Phyllis Paul of Brewster, N.Y. Donna Mansfield and her husband George of Port Chester, N.Y. Maureen Yade of Brewster, N.Y. Susan Palmisano of Greeley, PA. Kevin Yade of Meriden, CT. Barbara Violet and her husband Michael of South Windsor, CT. and Clinton Yade of Leesburg, VA. His siblings; Harold Yade of Greenwich, CT. and Evelyn Yade of Port Chester, N.Y. in addition to grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. He also leaves his former wife Patricia Borchetta of Wethersfield, CT.
