Frances Ruscak

Frances Ruscak 88 of Keene and formerly of Winchester died peacefully on November 1, 2010 at Genesis Center in Keene after a period of declining health.

She was born the daughter of Helen (Grabowski) and Stanislaw Ruscak. in Orange, Massachusetts on April 17, 1922. She was one of 9 children born to Polish immigrant parents. Frances was educated in Winchester and was a graduate of Thayer High School class of 1940.

Miss. Ruscak worked for 40 years as a personal care attendant for the W.S. Howe family in Hinsdale. After leaving the Howe family Frances moved to Florida and worked for the U.S. Postal Service for ten years before retiring in 1988.

Frances was a very private person. She never spoke of personal needs or concerns. Her life revolved around her family who she loved very much. She was the family go to person and care taker. Family was her life. She did enjoy a good book and was an avid Red Sox fan. She was also an active supporter and member of the Thayer High School Alumni Association.

Miss. Ruscak never married. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family and many close friends. She is the last of her siblings who have all passed previously; John, Frank, Mary Christina, Edward, Joseph, Victor, Julia and Victoria Ruscak.

Frances will be laid to rest with Christian Burial Rights in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery, Richmond Road in Winchester on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 11a.m. In keeping with Miss Ruscak’s wishes there are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers monitory donations can be made in memory of Frances Ruscak’s memory to the Thayer High School Alumni Association, 85 Parker St. Winchester, NH. 03470.
