Cindy Jane (Spiers) Abbott, 47, a long-time resident of Winchester, died on Sunday, July 2, 2017. She passed peacefully in the comfort of her home after a long period of declining health with a loved one near.

Cindy was born the daughter of the late Faith (Harrington) and Leonard Spiers on November 22, 1969 in Sommerville, Massachusetts, where she attended schools. Later in life, her mother, Faith married Richard Auger who Cindy embraced as her father.

On May 17, 2017 she exchanged vows with Richard A. Abbott Jr. in Fort Pierce, Fl. They were married in a simple service with close family and friends in attendance.

Cindy was formerly employed by Home Health Care as a caregiver and homemaker. She drove an eighteen-wheeler for a time. She also worked at a hardware store when living in Florida and was a former employee of Walmart.

Cindy was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend to many. Her love and devotion to her children were well known. She was known as a very gentile nurturing person who was always positive. She was light hearted, funny and enjoyed bringing laughter and smiles to people by telling jokes. She was not a materialistic person. She was very selfless. She enjoyed good music and spending time with family. Time was spent taking her family boating and fishing, watching game shows and playing games with her children. Cindy had a soft spot for animals especially her dogs Zeek, Goofy and Sam and lets not forget the cat, Wing nut. Time was spent watching and racing cars at Monadnock Speedway. She was fascinated by Lions and Tigers. Earlier in life she liked to go on Jeep trips with her mom and dad. Cindy had an extensive M+M and Mickey Mouse collection

Mrs. Abbott is survived by her husband Richard A. Abbott Jr. of Winchester. Her siblings; Valerie Harrington of Winchester, Doris Auger of Hinsdale, Richard, Auger Jr. of Winchester and Sharon Tatro of Warwick, MA. In addition she leaves cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Cindy is pre-deceased by her two children; Richard A. Abbott III who passed on February 7, 2013 and Clarissa Abbott who passed on May 13, 2015 and her parents, Richard and Faith Auger who passed earlier.

In keeping with Cindy’s wishes there are no calling hours. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 5pm. in the funeral chapel. Burial will be held later and privately in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery in Winchester.
