On July 16, 1942 she exchanged vows with James R. Imhof in Buffalo. They celebrated 50 years of marriage before his passing.
She enjoyed singing, going for walks, children, country rides and ice cream. Helene loved being with people, yet her strong opinions and independent spirit remained evident every day of her life.
Mrs. Imhof is survived by her son, David S. Imhof of San Francisco, CA. and a daughter in-law, Laurie Meissner of Walpole. She is also survived by a niece and two nephews, her family of caregivers, Tammy Beatty and Brittany Melroy and her community of friends and neighbors in Walpole and at the Castle Center. She is pre-deceased by her daughter, Debbie and son, Richard.
At Helene’s request there are no formal services. In lieu of donations, the family has asked that you greet each day with enthusiasm and a song in your heart. (“You are My Sunshine” was her favorite) and always say “I love you” to the people you care about. All services are under the care of Cheshire Family Funeral Chapel and Crematories, 44 Maple Ave. Keene, NH. 03431. www.cheshirefamilyfuneralhome.com
