Betty J. (Sumner) White-LeClerc 77 of West Swanzey died on March 29, 2011 after a period of failing health. She passed peacefully with the love of her family at her side at Cheshire Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Keene.

She was born the daughter of Florence (Sage) and Merret Sumner on February 17, 1934 in Wilmington, Vermont. She was educated locally and left school after the 10th. grade as so many of her generation did.

Betty was fortunate enough to find love twice in her life time. She was married to her first husband Donald White for 23 years before he passed. She later found love with Roland LeClerc whom she was married to for 5 years before he died.

Mrs. White-Leclerc was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses in North Swanzey. She was also a camper and a person who liked to travel. She enjoyed sewing and was very technology friendly. She liked to text with the grandchildren on a regular basis. She would also keep up with the family on face book. Her Fridays consisted of shopping and going out to eat with her children and grandchildren. She was a firm believer that respect is taught and earned from mom. Betty was a wonderful mother and loving grandmother.

Mrs. White-LeClerc is survived by her five children; Gary S. White and his wife Donna of West Swanzey, David A. White and his wife Cindy of West Swanzey, Theresa M. Perry and her husband Michael of Winchester Donald White Jr. of Madison, ME. and Michael White and his wife Linda of Swanzey. She also leaves three sisters; Elaine Hoose and her husband Dick of West Minister, VT., Patricia Gouin and her husband Bob of Brattleboro, VT., Margaret Carrier of Wilmington, VT. Her thirteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren nieces, nephews, cousins extended family and friends will miss her presence.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 1, 2011 from 6 to 8pm. in the funeral home. A service will be held on Saturday April 2, 2011 at 2pm. in the Kingdom Hall, Rt 32. North Swanzey 03446. Burial will be private. Donation should be made in memory of Betty J. White-LeClerc to the Kingdom Hall, Rt. 32. North Swanzey 03446.
