Corey Michael Lang 32 of Hinsdale died unexpectedly on April 3, 2011 in Erving, Massachusetts after a long courageous battle with mental illness.
He was born the son of Sandra J. (Robarge) and Gene M. Lang in Keene on January 4, 1979. He was educated locally and graduated from Hinsdale High School class of 1997. He has been a life long resident of Hinsdale.
Corey had worked for the Erving Paper Mill Company in Erving, MA. as an oiler mechanic. He was also employed at one time with the Vermont Bread Company as a mechanic. Corey also served in the U.S. Army.
Corey had many interests in life. He was an avid reader of literature. He loved all types of history. He enjoyed hiking the Long Trail and Appalachian Trail. A feat he had done more than once. Corey was talented with his hands. He would buy junk motorcycles and rebuild them to showroom condition. He had done this many times and actually road one cross country. He liked to ride his bicycle and rode one time to Maine. He was an avid swimmer and loved to run. Corey was a complex man and gentle soul with great love for his family.
Mr. Lang is survived by his parents, Sandra and Gene Lang of Hinsdale. His siblings; Janelle L. Barrett and her fiancee Edward Guyette of Keene, Trevor P. Lang and his long time girlfriend Jeanette Leclaire of Hinsdale and also close to being his sibling, Jacob M. Harris and his fiancee Janet Robertson of Swanzey. He also leaves his grandparents; Tom and Joan Burns of Crown Point, NY., Rafaela Robarge of Beth Page, Long Island, NY. and Elizabeth Gilbo of Elizabethtown, NY. Corey also leaves behind his uncle and aunt who he was extremely close to, Steve and Deborah Robarge of Winchester and his cousins; Sarah Robarge of Keene and Ashley DiLoreto of Swanzey. He also leaves cousins, uncles, aunts, extended family and friends. Corey is pre-deceased by his grandfathers; Clarence Robarge and Eugene Lang and brother in-law Elijah Barrett whom he had a very special relationship with.
A celebration of life service with reflections will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at 2pm. in the Great Wall Room at the Stonewall Farm. 242 Chesterfield Rd. Keene. 03431.
