Virginia “Ginger” H. (Malone) Fontaine, 69, a long-time resident of Swanzey and formerly of Georgetown, CT, died on Monday, November 5, 2018 at Langdon Place of Keene. She passed peacefully with the love of family near, after a period of declining health.

Virginia was born the daughter of the late Virginia (Bouton) and Robert Malone on August 24, 1949 in Georgetown, CT. She was educated in Danbury and graduated from Immaculate High School class of 1967.

On March 31, 1984 she exchanged vows with Edward “Rocky” Fontaine at the Swanzey Community House. They were married with family and friends in attendance and have been married for thirty-four years.

She worked as a teller at Market Basket for the past year. Prior, she had worked at NGM/Main Street America in Keene for thirty years as a Data Entry Specialist.

Ginger’s passion for life was her family. She is lovingly known as the best mama ever. She then became the best Grammy and best Great-Grammy ever. She enjoyed crocheting and camping with family and friends, especially in Loudon. She would give freely of her time to help those in need with various projects. In her younger years she played catcher in softball leagues. Time was always spent decorating the house for Christmas and other holidays.

Mrs. Fontaine is survived by her husband, Edward “Rocky” Fontaine of Swanzey, her six children; Mark E. Fontaine and his wife, Laura of Keene, Susan M. Sachetti and her significant other, Scott Seamore of Swanzey, Donald T. Sachetti of Swanzey, Brian K. Fontaine and his, wife Kim of Troy, Julie L. Sachetti and her husband, Rick Germana of Swanzey and Robert A. Sachetti and his wife, Mel of Swanzey; Ginger’s siblings; Mary DeLuca and her husband Giuliano of CT, Terry Malone of Hampton, Brian Malone of Clearwater, FL and Timothy Malone of TX; twelve grandchildren; Alicia, Kevin, Becka, Linda, Casey, Nina, Dominic, Dylan, Felicia, Emma, Sammy and Tiffany; eight great-grandchildren; Weston, Colt, Mia, Isabelle, Kathleen, Abigail, Olivia, Matthew and Jacob. She is also survived by her very good friend, Wendy Chase as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She is pre-deceased by her siblings; Robert and Brendan Malone.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 5 to 7pm. A celebration of life service will occur on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 11am. all in the funeral chapel with burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Old Homestead HWY, Rt 32 Swanzey, NH 03446. Flowers will gladly be accepted. However, the family would prefer donations be made in memory of Virginia H. Fontaine to Relay for Life of Keene, 2 Commerce Dr. Bedford, NH 03110.
