Rosalie K. (Stone) Myers, 92, a long-time resident of Sullivan passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Langdon Place of Keene.

She was born the daughter of the late Minnie B. (Rogers) and Donald M. Myers on November 23, 1925 in Brattleboro, VT. She celebrated her 92nd. Birthday on Thanksgiving with several family members present. Rosalie was educated locally and graduated from Keene High School class of 1944.

On December 25, 1954 she married Harold E. Myers at the Sullivan Congregational Church. They lived in Sullivan for many years raising three children and later enjoying life after retirement. Sadly, Harold passed on September 2, 2013 after almost fifty-nine years of marriage.

Rosalie was the oldest resident living in Sullivan when she passed away.

She worked at Timken in Keene for thirteen years as a ball bearing inspector, retiring in 1987. Prior, she had worked at the Abbott Company for many years.

She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Her skill was used to knit mittens for most of the children in the family. She was a member of the PTA when her children were young. She also acted as a 4-H Leader for years teaching young people many crafts. She and her husband enjoyed camping with the Good Sam Camping Club. Often, they would take grandchildren on trips and adventures. For several years she was a supervisor of the “Voting” Checklist in Sullivan. While her husband was Fire Chief for the Sullivan Fire Department she was an involved member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fire Department.

Her family was everything to her. When a new baby was born her heart just grew bigger with love. Little ones always brought a smile to her face and made her happy.

Mrs. Myers is survived by her daughters; Carol L. Sprague and her husband Herbert of Nelson, Joan A. Johnson and her husband Keith of Sullivan. A son, Phillip J. Russell and his wife Patricia of Winchester. She also considered Gary Sprague as a son, as he had lived with the family as a teen after his family home burned. He and wife Kathy live in CT. There is a special sister in-law, Judy Sprague and her husband Wilbur of Sullivan who was always there for her. She had three special men in her life. They were her two son in-laws Keith, Herb and brother in-law Wilber who did everything they could to make her life easier. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren. Her husband two special cousins; Charles and Kenneth Whitaker. She is pre-deceased by her grandson, David R. Frazier who passed on November 20, 2013. In addition, she is pre-deceased by all her siblings and their spouses.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 10am. with a celebration of life service at 11am. all in the funeral chapel. Burial will follow at Sullivan Center Cemetery, Sullivan, NH. Flowers will gladly be accepted. However, the family would prefer donations be made in memory of Rosalie K.
