Barbara E. (Clark) Kelley, 84 of Keene and formerly a long-time resident of Winchester, died on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. She passed unexpectedly in the comfort of her home.
Barbara was born the daughter of the late Lora G. (Bush) and Grant R. Clark on August 11, 1933 in Conway, Massachusetts. She was educated Conway, MA. and graduated from Deerfield High School class of 1951.
She was formerly married to the late Rodney Wells and Phillip Kelley. For the past seventeen years she has been in a relationship with Gerald “Jerry” Goslant of Winchester.
Barbara worked at the Keene Housing Authority as a receptionist for thirty years before retiring in 2001. Barbara wasn’t happy being at home. So, she accepted a position at Fairfield’s Automotive Group in Keene working two days a week as office staff.
She had many interests in life. Sitting around wasn’t one of them. Barbara was very active in the Winchester Historical Society. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and going to bingo. Time was spent working in her gardens growing flowers and vegetables. Barbara always had time for family events, especially going bowling with her children and grandchildren. She also had a softer side for animals especially, dogs and cats.
Mrs. Kelley is survived by her children; Kathy L. Kelley of Keene, Karen A. Parkhurst and her husband Wilbur of Bellows Falls, VT. and Patricia R. Kelley of Terre Haute, IN. She also leaves twelve grandchildren, several great grandchildren, cousins, extended family and friends. Barbara is pre-deceased by her son Keith B. Kelley who passed on November 5, 2005.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 4 to 7pm. in the funeral chapel. Burial will take place in the family lot in the spring of 2018 at Monadnock View Cemetery, Keene. Flowers will gladly be accepted. However, the family would prefer donations be made in memory of Barbara E. Kelley to: Monadnock Humane Society, 101 West Swanzey Rd. Swanzey, NH. 03446.
