Reno M. Putnam

Reno M. Putnam 86 of Lake Wales, FL. and formerly of Keene died on July 31, 2014 at his daughter and son in-laws home in Swanzey. He passed peacefully while sleeping with family near after a period of declining health.

Reno was born the son of the late Marion S. (Guild) and Marshal H. Putnam on February 20, 1928 in Keene. He was educated locally and graduated from Keene High School as the Valedictorian, class of 1946. He went on with his education and attended Northeastern University in Boston, MA. for two years.

On August 19, 1950 he exchanged vows with Eva M. Noel in Richmond. They were married in a simple service with close family and friends in attendance. They have been married for almost sixty four years.

Reno worked for the Frederick A. Farrar Company for twelve years. In 1956 he co- founded with George L. Vincent the G + R Electrical Motor Company. He sold his interest in the company to Mr. Vincent in 1985. After a period of retirement he worked at Solvall Engineering in East Swanzey. He also worked for a time as a fill in custodian at the Cutler School in West Swanzey. Reno finally retired in 1990 to enjoy life with his wife and family.

Reno was a man of great faith and charter member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Keene. He also became a member of the Lake Wales Lutheran Church and School. He was a lifetime member of the Keene Horseshoe Club and a member of the Winter Haven Horseshoe Club. Time was spent hunting, fishing, camping and traveling by motor home. Reno became a lifetime member of the Good Sam Club. He was a former member of the Bounders of America and the Dam Yankees R.V. Club. In recent years the Putnams have wintered in Florida and in September of 2007 they permanently moved to Lake Wales, Florida.

Mr. Putnam is survived by his wife Eva M. Noel of Lake Wales, FL. His children and their spouses; Philip B. Putnam and his wife Karen of Christiansburg, VA. Dennis M. Putnam and is wife Priscilla of Bennington, VT. and Eileen M. Ball and her husband Russell of Swanzey. His siblings; Lloyd M. Putnam and his wife Irene of Keene and Dr. Alan R. Putnam and his wife Selma of Corvallis, MT. He is also survived by five grandchildren and four great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and numerous friends. Reno is pre-deceased by his children; Gene R. Putnam and Lynda M. Putnam.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 from 6 to 8pm. in the Cheshire Family Funeral Chapel. A celebration of life service will be given on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at 11am. in the Trinity Lutheran Church, 100 Maple Ave. Keene, NH. 03431. Burial will follow in the family lot at Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Ave. Keene, NH. 03431. Flowers will gladly be accepted. However, the family would prefer contributions be made in memory of Reno M.
