Paul L. Olson, 68, a long-time resident of Swanzey died on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Cheshire Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Keene. He passed peacefully after a period of declining health with his family near.
Paul was born the son of the late Phyllis (Turner) and Ellis Olson on November 14, 1947 in Berlin. He graduated from Berlin High School class of 1965. He went on in his education and graduated from the New Hampshire Vocational Technical Program in 1968.
Paul was a patriot. He enlisted in the NH. Army National Guard on January 7, 1972. He served his enlistment and was honorably discharged at the rank of Pvt.
On September 14, 1980 he exchanged vows with Liisa M. Luoma in a simple service with close family and friends in attendance. The Olsons’ have been married for thirty-six years.
He worked at Kingsbury Corporation for twenty-seven years as a welder before retiring in 2011. Prior, he had worked at H. L. Holden Company in Keene for nine years in a similar role.
Paul enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also an avid camper. Time was spent with his family and friends. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Keene and the American Legion in Keene.
Mr. Olson is survived by his wife, Liisa M. Olson of Swanzey. His children; Michelle M. Olson – White and her husband Jason of Roanoke, VA. Angela A. Olson and her significant other Kevin Schock of Swanzey, Jennifer L. Allison and her husband Robert of Swanzey and Scott J. Robichaud and his wife Tina of Troy. His siblings; Leslie Aubin and her husband David of Berlin and Roger Olson and his wife Rita of Wayne, Me. . Eleven grandchildren; Brandon, Alec, Nicole, Zachary, Madison, Bryanna, Kyle, Nicholas, Rebecca, Sonya and Alisa. In addition he leaves aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 3, 2016 from 6 to 8pm. in the funeral home. A graveside service will occur on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 1pm. in the Wentworth Location Cemetery, Rt. 16. Wentworth Location (Maghalloway), NH. 03282. Flowers will gladly be accepted.
