George L. Vincent, 86, died on Sunday, September 25, 2016. He passed peacefully in the comfort of his home with his family near.

George was born and raised in Keene, the son of the late Dora (Provencher) and Omer Vincent on February 12, 1930. He attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School and graduated from Keene High School class of 1949, then served in the U.S. Air Force from 1949 through 1953.

He married Mary C. Roche on April 26, 1952 at St. Barnabas Roman Catholic Church in Bellmore, Long Island, N.Y. They shared 64 wonderful years together in Keene.

George established G& R Electric Motor Company, Inc. together with Reno Putnam. He continued to operate the business for over fifty years. He retired in 2005 to enjoy his golden years with his family.

George was a practicing Catholic and attended St. Margaret Mary, Parish of the Holy Spirit. He was a Charter Member of the Knights of Columbus Council #5414.

George is survived by his loving wife, Mary C. Vincent of Keene; his children: Denise A. Peets and her husband Kevin of Keene; Valerie M. Vincent – Horton and her husband Steven of Walpole; Debra V. Rothman and her husband Stephen of Lexington, MA; and Jim Vincent and his fiancée, Lisa Calkins of Spofford. In addition, he is survived by six grandchildren and one great grandchild, as well as extended family and friends. George is pre-deceased by his son, Michael G. Vincent who passed in 2011, and his siblings: Marion Rocheleau, Laurence Vincent, Brother Alfred Vincent, OFM CAP, Paul Vincent and Evelyn Tower Wyman.

In keeping with George’s wishes all services were held privately. Burial took place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Keene in the family lot with military honors. Monsignor Daniel O. Lamothe conducted the committal prayers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in George’s name to St. Joseph’s Regional School, 92 Wilson Street, Keene, NH, 03431.
