Marion (Hayden) Lougee

Marion (Hayden) Lougee 85 of Keene NH. and formerly of Orange, MA. died on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 in the comfort of her home. She passed peacefully after a period of failing health with her family at hand.

Marion was born the only child of the late Dorothy (Thomas) and Raymond Hayden in Orange, Massachusetts. She was educated in the Orange schools and graduated from Orange High School class of 1945. Marion went on in her education and attended Lasall Girls Junior College in Newton, Mass.

She worked for ten years as the secretary for the Keene Senior Center before retiring in 1993. She had also worked at the National Grange Insurance Co. in Keene and Gardner Hospital as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Marion was an active member of the Orange High School Alumni. She rarely missed a Boston Celtics game on television and was an avid Red Sox fan. Marion also enjoyed the challenge of a crossword puzzle.

Ms. Lougee is survived by her children; Gail Rhoades and her husband Bob of Quinter, KS. Janet Phillips and her husband Dave of Dublin, Craig Lougee and his wife Heidi Schnyer of Swanzey Center, Lois Goldin of East Swanzey and Joan Rousseau and her husband Rocky of Keene. She also leaves her grandchildren; Errin Arnold, Jenna Simon, Steve Phillips, Sophia Schnyer, Emma Schnyer, Jake Goldin, Shannon Trudelle, Kathryn Trudelle and Kelsey Rousseau. Great grandchildren; Lauren, Kaleigh, Shiloh, Dalton, Micah, Heidi, Kayla and Brian in addition to cousins, extended family and friends. Marion is pre deceased by her son Douglas Lougee who passed on September 22, 2006.

Calling hours will take place on Monday, July 29, 2013 from 6 to 8pm. in the Cheshire Family Funeral Chapel. Burial will be private in the family lot at Central Cemetery in Orange. Flowers will gladly be accepted. However, the family would prefer donations be made in memory of Marion Lougee to the charity of ones choice.
