Kathleen (Kathy) Dearborn-Weed, 61, a longtime resident of Hinsdale, died unexpectedly of natural causes at her home on Wednesday, December 21, 2016.

Kathy was born the daughter of the late Olga Goydic and Charles S. Dearborn on February 12, 1955, at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. She attended John F. Kennedy High School in Iselin, New Jersey, graduated from the nursing program at Armstrong State University in Savannah, Georgia, and completed graduate work at Louisiana State University.

Kathy retired in 2011 as a Registered Nurse with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services. She was well-loved by her co-workers and appreciated for her sense of humor and willingness to help others. She was an active nurse for more than 25 years.

On July 26, 1997, Kathy exchanged marriage vows with Craig O. Weed Sr. at a ceremony attended by family and close friends in Deep River, Connecticut. Sadly, Craig passed on January 27, 2016.

Kathy loved the company of her golden retrievers, Annabelle and Nova. She enjoyed travel, especially the coast of Maine, and had an abiding interest in astrology. As a young woman, she followed her bent for adventure as a traveling nurse.

Kathy is survived by her stepmother Carol M. Dearborn of Lakemont, Georgia, by her siblings Charles S. Derling and wife Anita of Jackson, New Jersey,; Nancy Manochio of Port Saint Lucie, Florida,; and Margaret Williams Barbor of Martinsburg, WestVirginia and her stepchildren Deborah A. Weed of
Denver, Colorado, and Craig O. Weed Jr. and wife Karen of Colebrook, New Hampshire.

In keeping with Kathys wishes, there are no calling hours. A springtime service is being planned with burial at the family grave site in Pine Grove Cemetery, Hinsdale. Further details will be posted at a later date. All services are under the care of Cheshire Family Funeral Chapel and Crematories, 44 Maple Avenue, Keene, NH 03431.
