Jane M. (Thompson) Harris, 76, a long-time resident of Keene and formerly of Winchester died unexpectedly on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon. She passed peacefully with her husband by her side.
Jane was born the daughter of the late Barbara (Whitcomb) and Lynn Thompson on February 23, 1940 in Keene. She was educated locally and graduated from Thayer High School class of 1958.
She had worked at Peerless Insurance Company in Keene as a file clerk for many years before retiring in 2000. Prior, she was employed at Cards of Joy in the Colony Mill.
On April 23, 1970 she exchanged vows with James (Jim) E. Harris at the United Church of Christ in Winchester. They were married with family and friends in attendance. Jane and Jim have been married for forty-six years.
Jane liked to read, sing in the church and pops choir. She was active with-in the United Church of Christ Church in Keene on various committees. She was also on the women’s fellowship.
Mrs. Harris is survived by her husband Jim E. Harris of Keene. Her sister, Joyce A. Hudson of Hinsdale, Her niece Kim Hudson of Hinsdale and her nephew, Lynn Hudson and his wife Angela of Chesterfield. In addition she leaves cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Jane is pre-deceased by her son Mark J. Harris who passed in 2009.
