Glendoris E. (Colford) Bartley, 89, a longtime resident of Gilsum and formerly of Clinton, Maine died on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Westwood Care Center in Keene. She passed peacefully with the love of her daughter and grandchildren near after a period of declining health.
Glendoris was born the daughter of the late Louise (Labbie) and Arthur Colford on February 26, 1927 in Fairfield, Maine. She was educated in Fairfield and graduated from Lawrence High School class of 1946.
She had many jobs over her life. Glendoris was the Manager at the Hungy Lion Restaurant in Keene for twenty-six years before retiring in 1980.
She enjoyed life. Her time was spent exploring current events. She liked to cook for her family and took pride in her home. Glendoris was a wonderful mother and a dotting grandmother.
Mrs. Glendoris is survived by her daughter, Rhonda M. Sliva and her husband Adam of Gilsum. Her siblings; Adeline Veilleux, Larry Colford, Carroll Colford, Norman Colford and Rita Bolduc. Her grandchildren; Denise Johnson and her husband Barry of Troy, Shawna Smith and her husband Trevor of Gilsum and Michelle Lounder and her husband Jeremy of Keene. Three great grandchildren; LeeAnn, Wyatt and Lexi. In addition, she leaves; cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Glendoris is pre-deceased by her siblings; Milton Colford, Wilbur Colford and Delman Colford all passed earlier.
In keeping with Glendoris’ wishes there are no calling. Burial will take place later in the family lot at St. Francis Cemetery, Waterville, Maine.
