Daniel “Dan” A. Price, 81, of Keene died on Sunday, August 21, 2016 in the comfort of his home. He passed peacefully after a period of declining health with the love of his family near.

Daniel was born the son of the late Ruth (Tupper) and Vann R. Price on January 21, 1935 in Burlington, VT. He graduated from Keene High School class of 1953.

On May 18, 1954 Dan enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served during the Korean War and discharged on November 10, 1956.

Soon after military service Dan went to college and received a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of New Hampshire class of 1963.

On September 10. 1961 he exchanged vows with Elizabeth Lord at the Methodist Church in Rochester, NH. They were married with family and friends in attendance. The Prices have been married for almost fifty-five years.

Dan was the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Arthur Whitcomb Inc. in Keene. He retired in 1997 after thirty-five years to enjoy time with his wife and family.

He was a former member of the Methodist Church in Keene. Time was given freely as a member of the Free Masons, Social Friends Lodge #42, in Keene.

Mr. Price is survived by his wife, Elizabeth L. Price of Keene. His children; Matthew S. Price and his wife Phoebe of Keene, Amy J. Price and her husband James Hylind of Baltimore, MD. And David A. Price and his significant other Barbara McMillan of Portsmouth. A brother in-law, Walter Bourdeau of Burlington, VT. Five grandchildren; Lydia Price, Isabel Price, Peter Hylind, Joseph Hylind and Grace Hylind. In addition, he leaves cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Dan is pre-deceased by his siblings; Beatrice Bourdeau and Alonzo Price both passed earlier.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2016 from 2 to 4pm. with a brief scripture reading and prayer at 3pm. Burial will take place later in the family lot at Rochester Cemetery in Rochester. Flowers will gladly be accepted. However, the family would prefer donations be made in memory of Daniel A.
