Cynthia (Cindy) Lee (Sayers) Morris

Cynthia (Cindy) Lee (Sayers) Morris 72 Died peacefully after a brief period of failing health at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.

She was born the daughter of Elizabeth D. (Bangs) and Robert M. Sayers on January 8, 1939 in Keene. Cindy was educated locally and graduated from Keene High School class of 1957.

Mrs. Morris was gainfully employed at Maplewood Nursing Home as a Certified Nursing Assistant for eight years before retiring in 2004. She had previously worked at Verizon as an Operator, Hannafords Grocery Store, Fabric Care Dry Cleaners and D Angelos Sub Shop.

Mrs. Morris liked to go to yard sales in her free time. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and loved her pet cats; Larry, Curly and Moe and her dog Tinkerbell. Cindy was very proud of her sobriety for the past twenty eight years. As a young woman she was beautiful and was crowned the 1958 Cherry Blossom Princess in Washington, D.C.. She had a strong faith in god and was an active member of the United Church of Christ in Keene for almost forty years. She was honest with her opinions and loved her daughter very deeply.

Cynthia is survived by her only child: Colleen M. Laporte and her husband Jim of Keene. She leaves her niece Elizabeth Thurston and nephew Michael Sayers both of Atlantic Beach, Florida. A cousin, Marion Bain of Ayrshire, Scotland in addition to extended family and numerous friends. Cindy is pre-deceased by her parents and three brothers; Robert Sayers Jr., David Sayers and Allen Sayers.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, September 24 at 10am. in the United Church of Christ Sanctuary, 23 Central Square, Keene. At Mrs. Morris request there are no calling hours and burial will be private. Flowers will gladly be accepted. However, donations should be made in memory of Cynthia L.
