Bruce W. Carey Sr. 67, a long-time resident of Marlborough, died on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Select Specialty Hospital in Rochelle Park, New Jersey. He passed peacefully with his wife at his side.

Bruce was born the son of the late Carmen (Lovely) and Austin Carey on October 1, 1949 in Keene where he attended local schools.

On April 30, 1988 he exchanged vows with Helen H. Hollis in Nashua and they have been married for almost thirty years.

Bruce was a meat cutter for twenty seven years at the Paire’s Market on Park Ave in Keene. Prior he had worked in a similar role at Streeter’s Market.

He enjoyed cooking for family and friends. He was an avid coin collector. In his earlier days he enjoyed bowling, wood working, fishing and playing horse shoes. He enjoyed trips to Foxwoods and Las Vegas with his wife and various family members for gambling trips and to attend shows. He was a man who had a great sense of humor. Bruce loved to host cookouts. Mostly, he loved his wife, children, grandchildren, his great grandson, his family and friends.

Mr. Carey is survived by his wife, Helen H. Carey. His children; Lisa E. Carey of Marlborough and Bruce W. Carey Jr. and his wife Valerie of Rindge. His brothers, Richard Carey and his wife Judy of Westport and Gerald Carey and his wife Jean of Keene. Grandchildren; Christopher Wilber, Austin Carey, Lauren Carey, Reed Wilber, Jacob Wilber and Shailer Herrick. His only great grandson, Noah Wilber. In addition he leaves cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In keeping with Bruce’s wishes there are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 11am at Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Ave. Keene, NH. 03431. Flowers will gladly be accepted, however, the family would prefer donations go in memory of Bruce W. Carey Sr. to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
