Alex H. Richard

Send Condolences

Alex H. Richard, 56 of Keene, NH. passed suddenly on December 2, 2017 in the comfort of his home following routine surgery.

Alex was born the son of the late Aline (Royer) and Raymond Richard on October 5, 1961 in Gardner, MA. He was raised in Gardner and graduated from Gardner High class of 1979.

Alex was proud to live in Keene, he worked for Cheshire Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and shared many great adventures with Danny and Jim. Alex spent the week before his surgery visiting his lifelong best friend April Prentiss. He said it was one of the best weeks of his life and we are grateful he passed filled with happiness and peace.

Alex was a very private person and fiercely independent. Alex had a huge personality and was able to ease the tension of any stressful situation with his wit and humor. Alex always felt it best to “let it go” because “it is what it is.”

His friends describe him as one of a kind, sensitive, thoughtful, funny and dependable. Alex hated fishing, hunting and most sports. He enjoyed playing cards, social media, gardening “weeds are flowers too”, trips to the lake in Harrisville and the Cape. Alex really enjoyed going to yard sales, collecting cobalt glass, searching for unique lighthouses and decorating his home.

Alex will be missed by his brothers Robert Richard of Gardner, Raymond Richard and his wife Diane of Osterville, MA, sisters, Celeste Valliere and her husband Richard Pullen of St. Augustine, FL. Yvette Richard of Gardner, MA. and Theresa Chagnon of Millbury, MA. Alex also leaves many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. We will all miss his smile, laughter and sense of humor. Alex now joins his parents, Raymond and Aline (Royer) Richard and his brother Patrick Richard in eternal rest.

In keeping with Alex’s wishes there are no calling hours. A celebration of life will be held on the Cape Cod in the spring of 2018. All services are under the care of Cheshire Family Funeral Chapel and Crematories, 44 Maple Ave. Keene, NH. 03431. WWW.cheshirefamilyfh.com
