Mary A. (Di’Bernardo) Hammond, 89, a life-long resident of Keene died on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Westwood Care Center in Keene. She passed peacefully with the love of family near after a period of declining health.

Mary was born the daughter of the late Elizabeth (DiGiulio) and Clement Di’Bernardo on February 8, 1928 in Keene. She attended local schools and graduated from Keene High School class of 1947.

On September 25, 1948 she exchanged vows with Robert L. Hammond at St. Bernards Roman Catholic Church in Keene. They were married with family and friends in attendance. Sadly, Robert passed on October 10, 1981 after thirty-three years of marriage.

Mary worked at MPB of Keene as a polisher in the production department. She retired in 1979 after fifteen years.

She lived a simple life. Her time revolved around her family and family’s needs. When time permitted she enjoyed going to bingo and having a proper home.

Mrs. Hammond is survived by her children; Robert L. Hammond Jr. and is wife Kathy of Keene and David Hammond of Keene. Her grandchildren; Jason Hammond, Heather Hammond, Matthew Hammond and Cory Hammond. Great grandchildren; Aila Koski, Andrew Koski, Casey Hammond, Caitlyn Hammond Adam Quintillio and Jack Quintillio. In addition she leaves cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Mary is pre-deceased by her siblings; Ernestine Papile, Rita Mackey, Rose Chabot, Edward Di’Bernardo, Cordine Di’Bernardo, Joseph Di’Bernardo and Angelo Di’Bernardo all passed earlier.

In keeping with Mary’s wishes there are no calling hours. A liturgy of the word with Christian Burial Rights will be held on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 10am. in the funeral chapel. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lower Main St. Rt. 12 South, Keene, NH. 03431. Flowers will gladly be accepted.
