Sarah L. (Williams) Hill, 70, a long-time resident of Troy and Formerly of Keene died on Thursday, February 7, 2019. She passed peacefully in the comfort of her home with the love of family near after a period of declining health.
Sarah was born the daughter of the late Barbara (Blackmore) and Earl Williams on September 2, 1948 in Keene. She was educated locally and graduated from Keene High School class of 1966.
On October 16, 1976 she exchanged vows with Donald E. Hill in Keene. They were married in a simple service with close family and friends in attendance. The Hill’s have been married for forty-two years.
Sarah worked at Troy Mills as a fabric dryer for many years. Prior, she had worked at Bradley’s in Keene for fifteen years in various departments. She also worked at MA Bell Telephone Company for four years as an operator.
She enjoyed arts and crafts. Time was spent reading and cooking. In her free time she gave freely of her time to participate in various projects with the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3968 in Winchester for many years.
Mrs. Hill is survived by her husband Donald E. Hill of Troy. Her children; Adrian Mallett of Keene and Richard E. Hill and his wife, Niesa of Canaan. Her siblings; Brian Williams and his wife, Ellen of Keene, Barbara Goodrich and her husband, Jerry of Aynor, S.C. Alice Rokes and her husband, Bruce of Marlborough and Penny Jardine and her husband, Gary of West Swanzey. A grand-daughter, Savannah Hill of Lubbock, TX. In addition, she leaves; cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In keeping with Sarah’s wishes there are no calling hours. Burial will take place in the spring at Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery in Winchendon, MA. Donations can be made in memory of Sarah L.
