Mary J. (French) Couitt, 74, a long-time resident of Alstead, died on Saturday, February 22, 2020, in the comfort of her home following a brief illness.
Mary was born in Rockingham, VT the daughter of the late Stella and Carl French on April 6, 1945. She was educated locally and was a graduate of Keene High School.
Mary( Joyce) volunteered many hours for the thrift shop in Alstead to benefit the Fall Mountain Meals on Wheels, She worked as a Waitress at Rita’s in Bellows Falls Vermont for several years, and as a Cross Country Tractor Trailer Truck Driver. She also worked at the Westminster Hotel in VT. as a manager for ten years, and at Steve’s Laundry in North Walpole for five years.
She enjoyed crocheting dresses for dolls and making afghans. She was an animal lover and especially enjoyed dogs and birds.
Mary is survived by her children; Gary Naylor Jr. and his significant other Teresa of Mason, N.C. John Donna, Kelly Donna, and Karla Donna. Her grandson, Nikoli A. Naylor of Gastonia, N.C. She also is survived by her good friends, Buzzy and Barb Cannon of Langdon and extended family and friends.
