Eleanor P. Wamboldt, 65, of Marlborough and formerly of Somerville, MA. died on Tuesday, September 29, 2015. She passed unexpectedly in the familiar surroundings of her home.
Eleanor was born the daughter of the late Eleanor L. (Mackey) and Donald C. Wamboldt on February 25, 1950 in Boston, MA. She was educated in Somerville and graduated from Somerville High School class of 1968.
She was a wonderful, caring and loving aunt to her nieces and nephews as they lovingly referred to her only as “auntie”.
Eleanor worked for the Polaroid Corporation in Waltham, MA. for many years as a member of the accounts payable department. Her time at Polaroid also involved trials and testing of new camera equipment. The latest and greatest instant cameras were developed by Polaroid. She thoroughly enjoyed this part of her job as it enabled her to take pictures of her family, especially her nephews and nieces who she loved dearly. This helped the company in evaluating and modifying their products.
Eleanor was always about family. But when time permitted she enjoyed bowling with her co-workers on the Polaroid bowling team.
Eleanor is survived by her sister, Kathleen I. Miller of Marlborough. Her brother, George D. Wamboldt of Derry. Nieces; Jolene M. Pacheco and Susan E. Caisse. Nephews; Stephen F. Pacheco Jr. Michael J. Pacheco and George M. Wamboldt in addition to cousins, extended family and friends. She is pre-deceased by her brother in-law, William J. Miller who died on January 30, 2013.
In keeping with Eleanor’s wishes there are no calling hours. A graveside service with Christian Burial Rites will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 10am. in the family lot at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lower Main St. Keene, NH. 03431. Flowers will gladly be accepted. However, the family would prefer donations be made in memory of Eleanor P. Wamboldt to: Castle Center, 312 Marlborough St. Keene, NH. 03431.
