On January 27, 1944 she exchanged vows with Ralph A. Hendrickson while he was stationed in the military in New Jersey. They were married for twenty nine years before he passed in 1973.
Eleanor was a stay at home mom. She felt it important to be home providing for her family and their needs.
She enjoyed gardening, especially blueberries and flowers. She liked to go on walks, do crossword puzzles, read and go on shopping trips with her daughters. She had a great sense of humor and liked the Boston Celtics, especially Larry Bird. Family time was very important to her. She liked to cook and bake for family meals, especially her cream puffs. Family was her greatest joy especially when the grandchildren would come to visit. Time was spent reminiscing about days gone by educating the younger ones on how things were done in the past. This was also a time to teach a little of her native Finish language to the younger ones.
