Dorothy RoseDorothy E. “Dot” (Taylor) Rose, 85, a resident of Troy and formerly of Gilsum, Keene and Winchester, passed away peacefully while resting on Friday, March 8, 2024, with the love of family by her side.

She was born to the late Gladys (Podmore) Taylor and Arthur Taylor Sr. on November 5, 1938, in Lake Luzerne, NY. She was educated in the local New York school system and graduated from Elizabeth-Lewis High School in Elizabeth Town, NY.

On February 3, 1962, Dorothy exchanged vows with the love of her life, Roland Rose. They had a simple service in the back of Beaver Street Market in Keene. They were happily married for 47 years until Roland passed away on December 2, 2009.

Dot enjoyed her time working for Sylvania Company in Hillsborough as an assembler for 18 years until she retired in 1978 so that she could spend more time with her family.

Along with working, Dot also loved to travel, knitting, crossword puzzles, and working in her vegetable gardens.

Mrs. Rose is survived by her son, William “Will” Rose and his wife, Alison of Troy, her two siblings, Arthur Taylor Jr. of Swanzey, and Patricia Martel of Ocala, FL. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Jarad Rose of Chesterfield, Danielle Keith and her husband, Brett of Westmoreland, and Heather Heath and her husband, Diamond of Columbus, OH., along with her four great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Roland Rose, and her three siblings, Florence Moriarty, Richard Podmore, and Anthony Taylor.

A celebration of life service will be at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 23, 2024, in the Cheshire Family Funeral Chapel, 44 Maple Ave. Keene, NH. 03431. A reception will be held at Christian Life Fellowship Church, 211 Whitcomb Rd. Swanzey, NH. 03446, immediately following the service. A private graveside service will be held later in the spring of 2024 at the Mountain View Cemetery in Claremont. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to House of Hope NH, P.O.
