Daniel “Dan” L. Rounds 25, a long time resident of Swanzey and former resident of Troy died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at his home.
Dan was born the son of Jennifer J. (Taylor) and Arnold Rounds on June 6, 1989 in Keene, NH. He was educated locally and graduated from the Winchendon School in Winchendon, MA. class of 2008.
Dan had an outgoing personality with a contagious smile, and he was always ready to help someone in need. He enjoyed spending time with family, close cousins, and friends. He was a loving and devoted father to his pride and joy…daughter Ellie Rounds. Dan’s passions included any kind of hunting and fishing. He liked to practice with his bow and was an accurate shot. He played baseball, soccer, and hockey at many levels for recreational leagues and school teams.
Dan is survived by his daughter, Ellie Rounds of Swanzey, Ellie’s mother Brittney O’Connor of Swanzey, his mother, Jennifer Heald and her husband Philip Heald of Swanzey, his father, Arnold Rounds and his wife Kim Rounds of Troy, his three siblings; Justin Rounds, Hunter Rounds, and Dawson Rounds (all of Troy), Grandparents; Theresa Taylor-Spiess of Thonotosassa, FL, Maynard Rounds of Vernon, VT, James Reed of Troy, Uncles and Aunts; Dan Taylor of Hinsdale, Vincent Rounds and Peggy Rounds of Spofford, Jackie Buchanan of West Chesterfield, his girlfriend Alix Perry of Swanzey, and numerous cousins, extended family members, and friends. Dan is predeceased by grandparents; Kenneth Spiess, Lawrence Taylor, Diana Rounds, Lorraine Reed, his aunt Pollyanna Rounds, and his uncle David Taylor.
There are no calling hours and burial will be private. A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 12pm (noon) in the funeral chapel at 44 Maple Avenue in Keene. Flowers will gladly be accepted. However, the family would prefer donations be made in memory of Daniel L. Rounds to a fund that has been set up for the future educational needs of his daughter, Ellie. Donations should be sent to any TD Bank under the account name Ellie Rounds educational fund.
