Carol Elisabeth (Bundy) Barrows

Carol Elisabeth (Bundy) Barrows, 85, a resident of Northampton and formerly of Amherst, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2018 in the comfort of her home at Rockridge Retirement Community in Northampton.

She was born the daughter of the late Helen A. (Ford) and Edward C. Bundy on December 25, 1932, as the church bells were ringing in North Amherst. She was educated locally and Carol graduated from Smith Vocational High School, class of 1952.

She worked at various jobs throughout her life. Before she retired her last position was with the Bennett Family (Mary Katherine and her brother Reverend Tom) in North Amherst, where she worked as a caregiver for their mother Gertrude and housekeeper.

Carol was an active member of the Hadley American Legion Auxiliary for many years. She was a member of the Amherst Camera club and won numerous prizes for her photos. For 20 years she worked on the alumnae committee at Smith Vocational High School. She was always busy with her crafts, which she enjoyed doing and was well known for her handywork which she shared with everyone.

Ms. Barrows is survived by her children Bonnie Wentworth and husband Rob of Quarryville, Pa, Cindy Strong and husband Michael of South Deerfield, MA. Richard Barrows and wife Wendy of Hanson, MA. Grandchildren Edward Jacque, Erin and husband Matt, Hannah Wentworth, Ethan Wentworth and wife Gabrielle, Oliver Wentworth, Noah Wentworth, Kelley Barrows, Jessica Hughes and her husband Robert, Great-Grand Children Nathan DeVilla, Xavier Waldrip, Rhett Wentworth, Robert Hughes, Carol was looking forward to another great-grandson (Wentworth) in September.

She was pre-deceased by infant son David.
