Marilyn E. (Clark) Rousseau, 77, of Misquamicut, RI and formerly of Spofford, NH. passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI on June 13, 2014.

She was born in Ware, MA on November 9, 1936. The daughter of the late Dorothy Grace (Bache) Clark and Elwin Osborne. Marilyn graduated from Holden High School in Holden, MA. class of 1954, and from the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Worcester, MA.

On July 15, 1979 she exchanged vows with Joseph F. Rousseau at the Keene State College, College Camp in Keene, NH. She was the beloved wife of Joe for nearly 35 years.

She worked as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years in a myriad of settings; and served as a medical volunteer on Citizen Emergency Response Teams in several states.

Her passions were gardening and knitting; making beautiful scarves, prayer shawls and blankets, booties, hats and sweaters for her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughters. She always inspired others in her life to be and do their best every moment of every day. Love, respect, thankfulness, joy and laughter were markers of her life that will live on and honor her.

Mrs. Rousseau will be sadly missed by her daughters; Lisa (Macuen) Walsh of Peterborough, NH. Mary Ellen Macuen of Worcester, MA. and Lauren Ortiz and her husband Lawrence of Merrimack, NH. She is also survived by her brother, Richard O. Clark and sister Judith (Clark) Bouvier. She was a loving grandmother to; Seanna Walsh, Kelly Ilacqua, Megan Walsh, Stephanie Brown, Joseph Laudone; Matison, Ashlyn and Kalyn Trotter; and Bobbi-Mae Meservey. She adored her great-granddaughters Anayah J. Quintana-Walsh and Grace E. Brown.

There are no calling hours. A Liturgy of the Word will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 2pm. in the Cheshire Family Funeral Chapel, 44 Maple Ave. Keene, NH. 03431. A celebration of life service will occur at the Bradford Citizens Club, 124 Woody Hill Rd. Bradford, R.I. 02808 at 2pm. on July 12, 2014. Marilyns friends are invited to either or both. Flowers will gladly be accepted. However, the family would prefer donations be made in memory of Marilyn E. Rousseau to: Hospice and Community Services for Certified Nursing Assistant training, 312 Marlboro St. Keene, NH. 03431. All services are under the care of Cheshire Family Funeral Chapel.
