Dorothy Dalrymple (Williams) Hilton
Dorothy Dalrymple (Williams) Hilton, 87, of Keene and formerly of Peterborough and Greenfield, NH died Friday, June 6, 2014, at Cheshire Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Keene, New Hampshire. She passed peacefully with her family present after a period of declining health.
Dorothy was born the daughter of the late Dorothy (Meeker) and Randolph B. Williams on April 27, 1927 in Danbury, Connecticut. She was educated in Newtown, Ct. and graduated from Newtown High School.
On December 4, 1969 she exchanged vows with Robert D. Hilton. They were married with family and friends present at the First Baptist Church in Hope Valley, Rhode Island. The Hiltons were happily married for eighteen years before he passed on July 29, 1988.
Dorothy worked as a Data Processing Manager at Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough. She retired in 1989 after nineteen years of employment.
She led a full life in spite of a debilitating car accident in 1989. She enjoyed reading, knitting, needle work and doted on her cats. She was an active member of the Order of Eastern Star and served the town of Greenfield, NH as treasurer for many years. She will be remembered as a loving mother.
Mrs. Hilton is survived by her children and their spouses; Charles G. Watson and his wife Andi of Mamaroneck, N.Y., Dorothy D. Carrien of Winchester, Anne C. Mackay of Merrimack, Carol S. Higginbotham of Providence, R.I., Wilbur S. Watson and his wife Dawn of York, Maine. Fourteen grandchildren; Todd Watson, Stephanie Harper, Meagan Brown, Nathan Watson, Karen Carrien, Christopher Hayden, Nicole and Leah Malinosky, Emily, Elizabeth, Hunter and Alexandra Watson, Catherine and Amanda Sevigny, four great grandchildren, and her beloved cat, Alex.
