Michael (Mike) J. Houghton 45 of Port Charlotte, Florida and formerly of Keene died on May 24, 2010 in Tampa, Florida after a period of failing health.
He was born the son of Marjorie (Feather) and Brian I. Houghton Sr. on June 18, 1964 in Keene. He was educated locally and graduated from Keene High School class of 1983.
Mr. Houghton worked as a self employed roofing contractor in the Tampa, Florida area for many years. He has been a resident of Tampa since 1994.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoors man. He was also a sports enthusiast. He enjoyed being a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Keene when he lived there. Mike enjoyed the simpler life style and was at peace when in the wild.
Mr. Houghton is survived by his father, Brian I. Houghton Sr. of Keene. His only brother Brian I Houghton Jr. and his wife Sally of Sullivan. He also leaves one son, Derek Houghton, age 17 of Keene. He is pre deceased by his mother, Marjorie (Feather) Houghton who died in 1996.
At the request of Mr. Houghton services will be at the graveside on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 9:30am. with Christian Burial Rights. He will be buried in the family lot at Monadnock View Cemetery in Keene. There are no calling hours.
