Constance M. (Botting) Vaine

Constance M. (Botting) Vaine 71 of Winchester died peacefully on Friday evening after a long period of illness. She died in the familiar surroundings of her home with the love and compassion of her family at her side. She was born the daughter of Herschel and Dola (Dunphy) Botting on April 24, 1939 in Winchester.

Connie has been a long time resident of Winchester. She was educated locally and graduated from Thayer High School class of 1957.

On December 21, 1958 Miss Botting took her vows to Neile Vaine Jr. at Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Winchester. They would have been celebrating their fifty first anniversary tomorrow.

Mrs. Vaine was gainfully employed for many years. She held positions with Temstat, Central Screw, Johnson Electric, and Kapiloff Insurance Co. She retired in 2003.

Connie had great faith in god and was a member of the Mary Queen of Peace, St. Stanislaus Church in Winchester. She was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing and knitting. Flower gardens were always planted in the spring. Playing cards with friends and family was a way to get together, laugh and have fun. She also enjoyed traveling. Connie was a long time member of the Thayer High School Alumni Association. Connie was a proud and dotting grandmother. A small get together at the home usually started at thirty friends and family. It was common for the Vaine’s to have barbeques and get togethers at the home. Connie just recently held a party for her mothers birthday. Family was everything to her.

Mrs. Vaine is survived by her husband Neile Vaine of Winchester. A daughter, Karen Jerome and her husband Paul of Belgium. Her son Jeffrey Vaine and his wife Penny of Winchester. Connie also leaves her mother, Dola Botting of Winchester. Grammy’s presence will be missed by her 3 granddaughters; Amanda, Laura and Marie Vaine. Herschel Dotting, Connie’s dad died earlier.

Friends and family are invited to attend a period of calling on Monday night from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral mass with Christian rights will be held at Mary Queen of Peace, St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Rt. 119 S. Richmond Rd. Winchester. Connie will be buried in the family lot near her father in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery, Winchester. Flowers will gladly be accepted. The family has requested that donations be made in memory of Constance Vaine to The American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718,Oaklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 or to the Norris Cotton Cancer Center, Kingsbury Pavilion, 580 Court St. Keene, NH. 03431.
