Marion L. (Dunn) Tacy 83 of Rochester and formerly of Westmoreland and Winchester died on Tuesday afternoon at Colonial Hill Nursing Home in Rochester after a brief period of failing health. She died with the love and compassion of her family at her side.

Marion (Prudy) was born the daughter of Dorothy L. (Parker) and Walter E. Dunn on September 2, 1926 in Keene. She was educated locally and after high school she went onto college graduating from Perry Normal School in Boston with a degree in education.

She was employed for over thirty years as an educator in the Winchester School System. Mrs. Tacy was well respected by her colleagues and loved by many of her students.

Miss Dunn took her vows to Clair R. Tacy on July 17, 1948 at St. Stanislaus Church in Winchester. They were married for forty three years before he passed in 1991.

Prudy loved to play the piano. She was very talented giving her the opportunity to play at Symphony Hall in Boston. She was always the teacher even at home. She loved to be in the outdoors with nature. Knitting was a way of relaxing and being creative. Family ties were important to her. She spent time working on genealogy to see how expansive the family has become.

Mrs. Tacy is survived by her son James E. Tacy and his wife Liz of Bellingham. Her daughters: Kathi Ann Tacy of Rochester and Sally M. Will and her husband Tracy of Winchester. A special daughter in-law Connie and her husband Gary Curtis of Winchester. Gram/Grampooh will be missed by her grand children: Brian and his wife Yola of Cape Coral, FL. David of Keene, Barry of Winchester, Megan and her boyfriend Jon of Winchester. Her great grandchildren will miss her presence: Cody, Collin and Katrina of Cape Coral, FL. and Kaitlyn, Steven and Lauren of Keene. She is pre-deceased by her sons John M. Tacy and Robert P. Tacy. Her only sister Priscilla Anderson also died earlier. She also leaves nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 10 to 12 noon. A celebration of life service will follow at noon all in the funeral home. Burial will take place in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery in Winchester to be scheduled in the spring. Flowers will gladly be accepted. However, the family would prefer monitory donations be made in memory of Marion L.
