Devin A. Tardiff, 27, of Keene and formerly of Roxbury died at home after taking control of his life and ending it.

Devin was born the youngest son of Dream (Beauregard) and Donald Tardiff on April 22, 1990 in Keene. He was educated locally and graduated from Monadnock Regional High School class of 2008. Devin went on in his studies and applied to an accelerated program at Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL. He earned his Bachelors of Arts in Film Studies, class of 2011

He was recently employed by the Timkin Co. in Keene where he worked to follow a long family tradition of machinists for them. Prior, he had worked at Full Flex in Brattleboro, Target of Keene, and Ruger Co. in Newport NH.

Devin enjoyed many things in life. Time was spent riding motorcycles and snowmobiling. He loved music and concerts. Devin was an accomplished guitar player where he wrote his own music and played with a small garage band of friends over the years. Devin had a great appreciation for many types of arts. He was a third-degree brown belt in Kung Fu. He enjoyed being with nature and the outdoors. He was not a man who took the easy route. He was a hard worker and enjoyed a challenge. Devin also had a softer side to him. Family time was very important as well as spending time and being available for his friends. He was an avid reader known for reading comic books to science books. He liked to brew beer and make honey mead. In his younger years he played Carl Ripken baseball, was a member of the monadnock Regional High School lacrosse and football teams. He was an occasional skateboarder with the prompting of his older brother.

Mr. Tardiff is survived by his parents, Don and Dream Tardiff of Roxbury. His brother, Amos J. Tardiff of Keene. A niece, Aryanah Vayens of Antrim. In addition he leaves; aunts, a great uncle, many cousins, extended family and lots of friends.

Burial will take place on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 11am. in the family lot at Mountain View Cemetery, Old Homestead Highway, Swanzey, NH. 03446. Flowers will gladly be accepted. Eva M. (Noel) Putnam

Eva M. (Noel) Putnam, 90, of Swanzey and formerly of Lake Wales, FL. died on Saturday, March 10, 2018. She passed peacefully at Cheshire Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Keene after a brief period of declining health.

She was born the daughter of the late Mary L. (Gilbert) and Leon Noel on December 20, 1927 in Winchendon, MA. She attended schools in Winchendon and Athol.

On August 19, 1950 she exchanged vows with Reno Putnam in West Boylston, MA. They were married in a simple service with close family and friends in attendance. Sadly, Reno passed on July 31, 2014 after almost sixtyfour years of marriage.

Eva was proud to be a stay at home mother and housewife. She did work for the former Giant Store and The Mart for several years as a store clerk and cashier in Keene.

She was a charter member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Keene and the Lake Wales Lutheran Church in FL. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, camping and travel by motorhome. She was a former member of the Bounders of America, Good Sam Club and The Dam Yankees RV Clubs. Eva enjoyed horseshoes with her husband, where she was a lifetime member of the Keene Horseshoe Club and the Winter Haven Horse Shoe Club. She was known to give freely of her time where she sold popcorn and other items at tournaments. As time went on and she moved back to live with her daughter in NH. she became an avid NASCAR fan. She liked to make puzzles with her son in-law. Football became interesting and she loved to watch golf, especially Tiger Woods when he was on television.

Mrs. Putnam is survived by her children; Philip B. Putnam and his wife Karen of Christiansburg, VA. And Eileen M. Ball and her husband Russell of Swanzey. A daughter in-law, Priscilla Putnam of Bennington, VT. She also leaves five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Eva is pre-deceased by her sons Dennis M. Putnam and Gene Putnam and Eva’s infant daughter Lynda all passed earlier.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 4 to 6pm. in the funeral chapel. A celebration of life service will occur on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 11am. in the Trinity Lutheran Church, 100 Maple Ave. Keene, NH. 03431. Kenneth A. Watson

Kenneth A. Watson, 78, a longtime resident of Winchester and formerly of Bow died at home on Monday, March 5, 2018. He passed peacefully after a period of declining health.

Kenneth was born the son of the late Maude (Miller) and Kenneth Watson on May 16, 1939 in Concord. He was educated in Concord and graduated from Concord High School class of 1956.

Ken enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on May 21, 1956 and completed his service on May 15, 1959 during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Airman 3rd. Class – E3.

On February 5, 1969 he exchanged vows with Glenna Howard at the Bow Baptist Church in Bow, NH. Sadly, Glenna passed on January 24, 2018 after being married for almost forty-nine years.

Ken worked as a machinist for MPB Timkin for sixteen years before retiring in 2000.

Ken was an avid golfer. He enjoyed going fishing on the lakes, streams and local ponds. When time permitted he enjoyed going bowling. Ken was a longtime member of the Eagles in Keene.

Mr. Watson is survived by his six children; Alphonse Cyr and his wife Arnie of Canterbury, Peter Cyr and his wife Barbara of Austinville, VA. Alan Cyr and his wife Rayleen of Hillsville, VA. Glenn Watson and his wife Jeanne of Hillsville, VA. Robert Watson of Marlborough and John Watson of Stoddard. His siblings; Nancy Arnold of Boscowen, Ruby Watson of MD. Robert Watson of Concord, Donna Watson of Pembroke, David Watson of Hebron, Bruce Watson of Bristol and Fay Watson of Franklin. In addition, he leaves several grandchildren, a few great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In keeping with Ken’s wishes there are no calling hours. Burial will take place for both Kenneth and Glenna at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, NH. 03303 on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 11:30am. with military honors. Alton “Al” S. Chandler

Alton “Al” S. Chandler, 78, a long-time resident of Keene died on Sunday, March 4, 2018 in the comfort of his home.

Alton was born the son of the late Mary (Coolm) and Allen Chandler on September 5, 1939 in St. Albans, VT. He attended schools in Middlebury, Vt. and graduated from Middlebury High School Class of 1957.

He served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard as a Personnel Specialist. Al was honorably discharged on December 9, 1962 at the rank of Sp4 – E4.

Al worked as a Senior Sales Rep for the Tichenor College Textbook Company until he retired in 2008. Prior he had worked for Wallace’s College Textbook Co., Barnes and Noble, Keene State College as Book Store Manager and Middlebury College Book Store as the Assistant Manager.

On April 21, 1990 he exchanged vows with Maureen E. (Whittle) formerly Robarge. They were married at St. James Episcopal Church in Keene with family and friends in attendance. They have been married for almost twenty-eight years.

Al was well known for being a sports enthusiast. He enjoyed watching all the New England teams. He also loved to watch the up and comers playing college basketball. Al was always up for going to dinner and enjoying time with family and friends. Mostly, Al was a family man. He enjoyed being a husband, father and in time grandfather.

Mr. Chandler is survived by his wife, Maureen E. Chandler of Keene. His children; Constance Bessette of VT., Tracy Chandler of MD., Timothy Chandler of Taunton, MA., Jessica Bergeron of Barrington, Michael Robarge and his fiancee Kimberley Diemond. Chesterfield, Mark Robarge of Rindge, Jeremy Robarge and his wife Mary of Keene and Justin Robarge and his wife Sara of Monterey, CA. His identical twin Allen Chandler and his wife Estelle; his sister in-law on his side, Kathy Chandler. His in-laws on his wife’s side; Paul Whittle and his wife Linda, Cait Throop and her husband, Gary, Kevin Whittle, Faith Palermo and her husband Phil, Eileen Stewart and her husband Don, Meg Whittle and her partner Darlene Beauregard and Stephen Whittle and his wife Ellen Williams. Grandchildren; Hannah Upham and her husband Josh, Abby Bergeron, Alexis Robarge, Aiden Robarge, Dylan Robarge, Alaina White and her husband Griffin, Nathan Robarge, Steven Robarge, Elizabeth Robarge and twins Sylas and Haven Robarge. Two great grandchildren; Carson Upham and Kaya Upham. Al is pre-deceased by his brother, Phillip Chandler. In addition he leaves; cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A very special thank you from Maureen to her sister Eileen for her incredible and loving help during Al’s final days.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 10 to 11am. with a celebration of life service to follow at 11am. all in the funeral chapel. Burial will take place later. Marion R. (Kauffman) Pratt

Marion R. (Kauffman) Pratt, 93, of Keene and formerly of Fairfield, CT. died on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Langdon Place in Keene.

She was born the daughter of the late Marion (Marsh) and the Rev. Henry Kauffman on August 9, 1924 in Bayonne, N.J. She was educated in Westwood, N.J. and graduated from Westwood High School. Marion went on in her studies and graduated from Montclair State Teachers College in New Jersey with a BA in French.

Marion was one of the greatest generation serving her country in the U.S. Navy during World War II where she served as a store keeper and translator. She was honorably discharged at the rank of Petty Officer 3rd. Class / E-4.

She also worked as a Clinical Administrative Assistant for RCA International in New York City for several years after the war. Later in her career she was employed by Purdue Pharma Co. where she worked as an assistant credit manager. She retired in 1990.
Marion enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, and playing golf. She also enjoyed looking at wildflowers in the woods and side of the road.

Ms. Pratt is survived by her children; Judith M. Sullivan and her husband Francis of Keene, James Pratt of Pembroke, N.H., and her ex-husband, James D. Pratt of Newton, MA. She also leaves two grandchildren; Kathleen L. Sullivan of Albany, VT., Margaret M. Lashof-Sullivan and her husband Matthew of Watertown, MA. and a great granddaughter, Cora J. Lashof-Sullivan of Watertown, MA. Marion is pre-deceased by her brother John H. Kauffman.
