Yvonne M. Whipple, 58, a long time resident of Winchester died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Cheshire Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Keene.
Yvonne was born the daughter of Arlene (Mackey) and Arthur B. Whipple on February 16, 1957 in West Swanzey. She was educated locally at Cutler School and graduated from Monadnock Regional High School class of 1975.
Yvonne had worked at Homestead Woolen Mill, Central Screw, and Sims/Portex. In addition she worked at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinic-Cheshire Medical, Humane Society of Cheshire County, and HCS Health and Human Services in Keene for eleven years and for the past year at The Mountain Corporation in Keene. She enjoyed many things in life. She liked to work in her flower gardens. Yvonne was a lover of animals, especially dogs and cats. She spent time volunteering at the Monadnock Humane Society and Fast Friends both in West Swanzey. She was a kind, giving soul who would always reach out to others in need.
She is survived by her Father Arthur B. Whipple of West Swanzey. Her brother, Arthur S. Whipple of Keene. Her husband Derrell Hooper and longtime close friend and care giver, Edward Maki and Pets-Gracie May, Cameo and Jewel of Winchester. In addition she leaves, cousins, extended family and friends. Yvonne is predeceased by her mother who passed in 1992, and her Step Mother.
A liturgy of the word service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 10am. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the family lot at Oak Hill Cemetery, Pine St. West Swanzey. Flowers will gladly be accepted. However, the family would prefer donations be made in memory of Yvonne M. Whipple to: Monadnock Humane Society, 101 West Swanzey Rd.
