William “Willy” D. Jantti, Sr. 77, a life-long resident of Winchester died unexpectedly on Friday, April 13, 2018 in the comfort of his home.

William was born the son of the late Blanche (Kenney) and Emil Jantti on November 3, 1940 on the Jantti farm in Winchester. He was educated locally where he attended schools in Winchester.

On June 17, 1960 he exchanged vows with Juliane O. Bogumiloff at her mother’s home in a simple service in West Swanzey. Sadly, Juliane passed on October 7, 2005 after forty-five years of marriage.

Willy worked at the Fiber Mark Co. in Brattleboro for forty years as a maintenance man before retiring in 2006. Willy wasn’t one to sit idle. He worked with his son for many years cutting, splitting and delivering wood. He also helped in clearing building lots and was always up for just running around town helping family and friends with various projects.

He enjoyed hunting, motorcycling, working in his vegetable gardens and picking wild blueberries. Willy liked to work on cars and cut and stack firewood. He was also a longtime member of the Eagles in Brattleboro.

Mr. Jantti is survived by his children; James Jantti and his wife, Luisa of Erwin, TN. William “Bill” D. Jantti Jr. and his wife, Candace of Hinsdale and Robert “Bob” J. Jantti Sr. and his life partner, Vickie Comire of Winchester. His siblings; Gertrude LaBarre of Lakeland, FL. Jane Ward of West Swanzey, Phyllis Alexander of West Swanzey, Ruth Lechlinder of Marlboro, Sonja Parton of Winchester, and Emil “John” Jantti of Vera Island, ME. His companion, Linda Jenisch of Winchester. In addition, he leaves; four grandchildren, James J. Jantti II, Robby Jantti, Derek Jantti and Jessica Jantti. Three great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and numerous friends. He also leaves his nine graddogs who he loved. Willy is pre-deceased by his brother Freeland “Joe” Hemphill who passed earlier.

In keeping with Willy’s values there are no calling hours or formal religious rights. A gathering to celebrate the life of William “Willy” D. Jantti will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 1 to 5pm. in the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 3968, 5 Main St Winchester, NH. 03470.
