William F. Hollis, 62, of Hinsdale, New Hampshire and formerly of Brattleboro, VT. and Massachusetts died on Friday, November 18, 2016. He passed peacefully in the familiar surroundings of his home while resting.
William was born the son of the late Elizabeth (Lyman) and Joseph Hollis on September 9, 1954 in Springfield, MA. He attended schools in Chicopee.
Bill worked as a driller and blaster for the Thomas Construction Company for twentysix years before retiring in 2000.
He enjoyed fishing, cooking and vegetable gardening. Time was spent watching old movies and being with family. He was a long-time member of the Laborer’s International Union of North America.
Mr. Hollis is survived by his two children; Josh J. Hollis and his wife Aimee of Hinsdale and Jessica J. Hollis of Brattleboro. His siblings; Richard Gordon and his wife Debra of Pompano Beach, FL. Edward Rossi of Agawam, MA. Beverly Rossi and her significant other, Robert Beaulieu of Chicopee, MA. Deborah Cullison of Port Ritchie, FL. John Rossi of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Michael Rossi and his wife Tina of Wilmington, N.C. and Cynthia Hollis of Largo, FL. His three grandchildren; Kade Hollis, Tarren Todd and Kellan Todd-Nightingale. In addition he leaves cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. William is pre-deceased by his daughter, Jacquelyn M. Hollis who passed in 1985.
In keeping with William’s wishes there are no calling hours and burial will be private. A celebration of life service is being planned and will be announced later.
