Thomas “Tom” Blake, 77, of Sullivan, NH., passed unexpectedly in the comfort of his home with family near on Monday, November 20, 2023.

Tom was born to the late Claire (Coakley) and George Blake on April 26, 1946, in Pittsfield, MA. He was educated at Pittsfield High School, class of 1964.

On November 24, 1979, he exchanged vows with the love of his life Janice “Jan” (LaRose). They were married in a simple service in their home surrounded by family and friends. The Blakes had been married for 44 years.

Tom had worked for the City of Keene in their Highway Department as a truck driver for 15 years, retiring in 1999. Prior, Tom worked as a blaster assistant and logger. Over the years Tom also spent many hours working as a mason for others and his family.

Tom had many passions in life. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed the occasional woodworking project. When he wasn’t hunting you could catch Tom reading about true war accounts or playing guitar. He also loved to spend time with his best friend, his dog Jackson, who passed away in 2021.

Mr. Blake is survived by his loving wife, Jan Blake of Sullivan; his four children, Karen Bean and her husband, Mark of Dalton, MA., Teri Quagliano and her fiancée, David Demastrie of Pittsfield, MA., Bonnie Brooks and her husband, Keven of Stoddard, NH. and Jason Blake of Kempner, TX. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, as well as cousins, extended family and friends.

A funeral service for Tom will be held on December 2, 2023, at 11:00 am in the Beth-El Bible Church, 13 Village Rd. Surry, NH. 03431. There will be light refreshments at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom’s name to Cheshire County Fish and Game (ccssef.org).
