Therese ”Terry” R. (Montminy) Croteau, 81, a long-time resident of Keene and formerly of Berlin died on Thursday, May 2, 2019. She passed peacefully in the comfort of her home with the love of family near.

Therese was born the daughter of the late Alice (Parre’) and Louis Montminy on August 3, 1937 in Berlin. She was educated in Berlin where she graduated from Notre Dame High School class of 1956.

On May 3, 1958 she exchanged vows with Rodrigue “Rod” J. Croteau at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Berlin. They were married with family and friends in attendance. They would have celebrated their sixty first wedding anniversary this past Friday.

Terry was employed by Keene State College for over twenty-two years as a cashier. She retired in 2007 to enjoy her golden years with her family.

She was a devout parishioner of St. Margaret Mary’s, Parish of the Holy Spirit Church in Keene for many years. She also enjoyed; casino trips, trips to the Caribbean, knitting and crocheting shawls for members of the church. In her earlier years she liked to go camping through the Good Sam’s Organization. She was always up for square dancing and playing Uno.

Mrs. Croteau is survived by her husband Rodrigue “Rod” J. Croteau of Keene. Her son, Michael R. Croteau and his wife Elizabeth of Leominster, MA. She is pre-deceased by her son, Robert L. Croteau who passed on May 16, 1980 and is also pre-deceased by her brother Roland Montminy.

In keeping with Terry’s wishes there are no calling hours. A Mass will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 11am. in St. Margaret Mary’s Church, Parish of the Holy Spirit, 33 Arch St. Keene, NH. 03431. Burial will take place later in the family lot at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Walpole. Flowers will gladly be accepted. However, the family would prefer donations be made in memory of Therese R. Croteau to: St. Vincent De Paul Society C/O St. Bernards Church, 161 Main St. Keene, NH. 03431.
