Theresa P. Hill, 84, of Swanzey, a former long-time resident of Keene, NH, passed away peacefully, with her devoted family by her side, at Langdon Place in Keene on Friday, December 7, 2018 after a long period of declining health.

Born in Keene, NH on November 1, 1934, she was the third of 14 children, oldest daughter of Amos M. Blanchard, Sr. and Gladys M. (Lash) Blanchard. She attended the St. Joseph Regional School and Keene High School.

She was a former member of the Emblem Club and enjoyed activities with the Red Hat Society.

She was introduced to Alan E. Hill by her brother, Wesley, and they were married on June 13, 1953. Theresa dedicated her life to raising her three children and defined the term “domestic engineer.” She was also the bookkeeper for A.E. Hill Construction for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She lovingly cared for her husband prior to his death in 2003. Throughout the years, she loved cooking for her family and friends—everyone was always welcome to pull up a chair at her table. She began fighting a progressive downhill battle with dementia and was cared for at The Carpenter Home in Swanzey in her later years.

She is survived by her three children; Andrew A. Hill and his wife Beverly of Swanzey, Gale A. (Skip) Hill and his wife Mindy of Keene, and MaryJane Watterson and her husband Toby of Seabrook; five grandchildren who she loved dearly; Becky Hart, Ethan Hill, Emily Hill, Katie Scott, and Adam Hill; four great grandchildren; Samuel Hart, Lukas Hart, Julia Scott, and Samuel Scott. She is also survived by her siblings; Millard Blanchard and his wife Lucille of New Smyrna, FL, Pearl McKeon of Roxbury, Clayton Blanchard and his wife Nancy of Martin, GA, Leonard Blanchard and his wife Mary of Roxbury, Gertrude Bruder and her husband Timothy of Mesa, AZ, Joyce Blanchard of Mesa, AZ, Nancy Blanchard of Roxbury, Donna Kujawa and her husband William of Manchester, and Amos Blanchard, Jr. and his wife Marilyn of York, ME; as well as two sister-in-laws; Martha Wildove of Keene and Sylvia Blanchard of Keene; as well many nieces and nephews and extended family members.

She is predeceased by her parents; husband of 50 years, Alan, and two newborn sons, Robert Brian (1958) and Stephen Peter (1961) in additional to her brothers; Wesley Blanchard, Milton Blanchard and Arthur Blanchard, and a sister, Beverly Punt.

Calling hours will be held at 11am. with a service a Memorial Service to follow at 12 noon on Thursday, December 13, 2018 all in the funeral chapel. Burial will follow at Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Ave, Keene.
