Shirley was born the daughter of the late Margurite (Stockton) and Everette Pratia on October 1, 1931 in in Troy. She was educated locally and graduated from Keene High School class of 1948.
On November 10, 1951 she exchanged vows with she exchanged vows with Oscar E. Anderson Jr. at the First Baptist Church in Keene. They were married with family and friends in attendance. Sadly, Oscar passed on May 21, 2016 after sixty-four years of marriage.
She worked as a Nutritional Specialist for Cheshire Medical Center for over ten years before retiring. Prior, she worked at the Keene Grange as a secretary for many years.
Shirley had many interests in life. She liked to work in her flower and vegetable gardens, do word searches and crossword puzzles and sewing was always done on garments. She was also very handy in the house. She could fix just about anything after taking some time looking at it and understanding the mechanics. Shirley loved genealogy studying family history. Mostly she was a wonderful wife, mother and in time grandmother.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by her children; Jean A. Housel and her husband Richard of Long Island, N.Y. Carole L. Hamill and her husband William of Swanzey and Roger L. Anderson and his wife Janice of Chandler, AZ. Six grandchildren; Amy, Nathan, Gwen, Gregory, Joseph and Christina. In addition, she leaves; ten great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A private graveside service was held on Monday, July 30, 2018 in the family lot at Monadnock View Cemetery in Keene. Donations can be made in memory of Shirley P.
