Samuel “Sam” Lawrence Bordner, 31, of Hinsdale and formerly of Jaffrey, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, August 18, 2019.

Samuel was born in Peterborough, NH, the son of Debera J. (Parker) and Stephen J. Bordner Sr. on August 31, 1987 and was the youngest of six children. He was educated in Jaffrey and graduated from Victory High School Class of 2005.

Sam worked at G.S. Precision in Keene as a C and C machine operator for 13 years.

He was an avid outdoorsman. Sam loved hiking, fishing and hunting. He would take a yearly trip to North Carolina with his father on hunting trips. Sam was adventurous, visiting Alaska
and other places across the country. He was extremely proud of his Irish heritage and enjoyed researching his family’s ancestry and sharing it with others. He had a deep respect for his family members who served in the military. One of Sam’s proudest moments was acting as best man in his nephew Zachary’s wedding. Saying Sam was a friend to many was an understatement. He had countless friends locally and all over the country. Sam was also very giving of his time to the community. Time was spent as a Volunteer Fire Fighter for the Town of Hinsdale and Dublin Fire Departments. He was a proud member of Mason Lodge 525 in Keene for many years.

Sam spent his life serving others and voluntarily putting himself in harms way to save lives. In the midst of their sorrow, Sam’s family takes comfort in knowing Sam continues to save lives even after death. Five people were given the gift of life saving organs due to Sam’s generous and selfless nature. Sam’s big heart continues to beat on.

Mr. Bordner is survived by his parents, Stephen J. and Debera J. Bordner of Hinsdale. His siblings; Tanya Bordner of Jaffrey, Vanessa Laramie and her husband, Matthew of Iron Station, N.C. Jamie Heistad and her husband, Sven of Indian Trail, N.C. Elysia Devens and her husband, David of Jaffrey and Stephen Bordner Jr. of Hinsdale. Sam is also survived by; ten nephews, fourteen nieces, many cousins, uncles, aunts and numerous friends.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 11am. in the Grace Christian Fellowship Church, 81 Ashuelot St. Winchester, NH. 03470. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that any donations be made in Sam’s memory to the Hinsdale NH Fire Department. All services are under the care of Cheshire Family Funeral Home and Crematories, 46 South Winchester ST. Swanzey, NH. 03446.
