Ruth M. (Sharp) Clark, 74, a long time resident of Troy and formerly of Keene, Laconia and Manchester, died unexpectedly on Friday, December 18, 2015 in the comfort of her home.

Ruth was born the daughter of the late Marie A. (Sigman) and Alexander E. Sharp on November 22, 1941 in Franklin. She was educated in Bristol and graduated from Bristol High School class of 1959. Ruth went on in her education earning an Associates of Science from Cambridge School of Radio, Television and Business in Cambridge, Massachusetts class of 1961.

On May 21, 1977 she exchanged vows with Donald C. Clark in Troy. They were married in a simple service with close family and friends in attendance. The Clarks have been married for thirty eight years.

Ruth worked as a Cashier and Clerk at Stans Market in Troy. Prior she had been employed as a Radio Broadcaster in Laconia, Manchester and Keene. Her life would change as her children came along. For a long time she was a stay home mom running the house and making sure she was home for her childrens needs.

She was of Catholic faith teaching catechism and attending mass at Immaculate Conception Church in Troy. She enjoyed spending time in her flower and vegetable gardens. Ruth was a lover of all animals. Mostly, Ruth enjoyed being at home and attending to the families needs.

Mrs. Clark is survived by her husband Donald C. Clark of Troy. Her children; Russell A. McDermott and his wife Jody of Troy and Kathleen M. Menendez of Milford. Her four brothers; Albert E. Sharp and his wife Sandra of Little Mountain, S.C. Nathan A. Sharp and his wife Stephanie of Manchester, Wayne P. Sharp and his wife Linda of Berlin, OH. and Glenn A. Sharp and his wife Dianne of Steubenville, OH. Her three grandchildren; Keenan McDermott, Zoe Menendez and Chase Menendez. In addition she leaves cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Ruth is pre-deceased by her son Gary E. McDermott who passed on July 24, 1984.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 5 to 7pm. A liturgy of the word will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 10am. all in the funeral home. Flowers will gladly be accepted. However, the family would prefer donations be made in memory of Ruth M. Clark to: Monadnock Humane Society, 101 West Swanzey Rd. Swanzey, NH. 03446.
